I have noticed, that yes, OCs are very under appreciated. I've been developing some of my characters for three or more years now and they get less attention than the occasional work of fan art that doesn't even look good.

It's a sad fact of life, unfortunately. My fan-art gets more views and favorites than the stuff I actually put time and effort into (that isn't to say I don't put time and effort into fan art; I just put way more into original stuff).

I'm optimistic in that, if one puts their work out there enough, eventually there will be fan art of THEIR OC's.

Oc's tend to be better than fan characters. More depth seems to be given to them.
