TLDR: Lived peacefully until taken from her home with her mother and sold in a foreign country. Seduced the god damned emperor and one thing led to another and she was working underground to free her people slowly. She killed the Emperor before he could destroy her home and fled. Was caught for her crimes before she could get home and executed.

Though it's been over 200 years, Xanthe will never forget the home where she was born. Things were simple back then, and she was training to become a seamstress alongside her mother. Life was peaceful for many years and their small villaige was removed from the violence of the outside world for centuries... until they were found. Many of the women and men were taken, including Xanthe and her mother and taken to a strange country far from their home. Her father had been spared since he had been out of the city on a hunting trip. Xanthe and her mother tried their best to stay together, but once they reached the large city they were sold off to different people and lost track of each other. Xanthe was send off to be a maid in the palace, and she didn't know where her mother had ended up. She was determined to find her mother again and return home, and started scheming quickly how she could get out of her situation. It wasn't until one of the Emperor's personal guards took a liking to her and she realized how easily she could wrap him around her finger that she got an idea... Through him she gradually worked her way closer to the Emperor- a process that was no easy feat. Only the most trusted servants were allowed in his private wing, and it took her a few years to reach that level of clearance. Once she was in the easy part began- Seduce the Emperor. What a fool the man was... He truly thought her below him- harmless- just a beautiful canary that could easily be his... He was surprisingly easy to win over. It wasn't difficult to charm him and convince him to promote her far beyond her deserving rank as a servant.
Her new role in the palace was as a concubine to the Emperor, giving her luxuries she would never have had, and access to information that she could never have gotten otherwise. She used her new position to earn the Emperor's favor, eventually becoming one of his favorites and lowering his guard enough to tell her about political events.
Now she was being paid a generous sum, and was free to wander the city with a guard in tow.

She found someone familiar on one of her excursions into town. She had found a prestigious shop uptown and decided to stop buy to pick up some fabric... but she found someone else instead. There behind the counter was her mother- looking healthy and happy. She had been sold a few times until her abilities had found her a perfect place. The two held each other and cried, having thought they'd never see each other again.They spent a few hours catching up before she had to leave, but promised to visit often. Once again she devised a plan, and started mentioning the talented seamstress she'd met often around the palace, showing off her work and singing high praise. "Her abilities are better than the royal seamstress, no?" She planted the idea and waited for it to take hold, and eventually her mother was purchased for a generous sum to work in the palace alongside her. Now that they were reunited, she only had one objective left: get back home.

The entire time her mother was living in the palace they kept the true nature of their relationship a secret, not telling even the other servants. Xanthe spent a lot more time out of the Emperor's wing and mingling with a lot of the servants, many of whom she found out were from her home as well. If she was going to get out with her mother, maybe they could come with her? Slowly servants started to go missing as she set her plans into action. She manged to organize a small camp just outside of town and paid off some trusted guards to work for her, sneaking servants out one by one. While this was going on she managed to get more information about her home, and what had happened to it since she last saw it. It sounded like it still existed, but had struck up a bargain with another one of the Emperor's enemies, and that he had half a mind to wipe it off the map entirely.

She couldn't let him- He hadn't discussed the idea with his advisers yet, so she might still have a chance to silence him before he could set his plan into action. Finally, she had her mother sent to the camp she'd set up and waited.... She bode her time until she was invited to his quarters again and slit his throat before fleeing, leaving the castle before anyone could realize what had happened and that the Emperor had been murdered. She met up with the others and they set out, knowing guards wouldn't be far behind.

They managed to sneak away from the city undetected, but someone must have figured out Xanthe's origins, as they knew exactly where they were headed. The channel that led to her homelands was blocked off, and they had to make camp and hide out for as long as they could. They managed to move their camp often enough not to be caught, and spent years waiting for their chance. By the 7th year the got their chance- or so they thought. The soldiers had cleared out and left them the chance they needed to steal a ship and return home. They slipped off before sunrise and commandeered their own ship before setting out, thinking they were finally home free. Their glee was short lived as a cannonball struck the side of their ship and they realized they'd been set up.
None of them were experienced enough sailors to avoid the attacks in a ship like this, and at the rate things were going they wouldn't make it in time... But maybe they could?
She asked one of her friends to hold her mother back and took off back towards the shore. She was the one they were after- a bunch of escaped slaved weren't worth their time, but the murderer of the Emperor? That wasn't a prize they could refuse.
She reached the shore and gave herself up peacefully. They didn't kill her right away, but now that they had what they were after they had no reason to pursue a ship of vagrants. She was transported back to the capital that she'd lived in for so many years and imprisoned to await a trial that they had already decided the results of. As everyone expected she was sentenced to death, and her execution was scheduled. This time she couldn't worm her way out. She wouldn't endanger anyone who might have been an ally left behind, so she accepted her fate. In less than a week she was brought before the crowd, the guillotine standing tall and imposing. The last she remembers is closing her eyes and hearing the blade drop....

And then she woke up here, in Yggdrasils realm.

She often uses it to distract or disguise herself, using it to hide her scar when absolutely needed or going undercover. If she uses more of her magic her illusions can be tangible, and she can create objects or hide her wings completely. (Fake objects will disperse if you apply too much pressure or it takes an impact like being dropped, hitting anything, ect. Cannot create things that can be consumed.)

- Fire magic:
Of the two magics this is her weaker one. She can create flames and heat but hasn't properly studied the art behind it.

- Some knowledge of blade-work:
She hasn't been in many proper fights, but she has learned how to wield a knife or blade in self defense. She has a grace that could lend itself to her technique if she were to apply herself and try to learn properly.
