Did you do the bottom foot separately and then piece it together?

I did. But the top was too heavy and the base started collapsing, so I had to set the whole piece on an upside-down salad bowl until it dried to keep the curved form.

Interesting piece. The paint on the main body look like Chinese brushstrokes. Though the bonsai reminds me more of coral--not that it's a terrible thing, mind you.
