Description This is Lucy, my three year old dream doggy. I knew she and I were meant to be best buddies the first time I laid eyes on her.

Done during jury duty, with a photo ref. Pencil on paper.

I basically just started out with a loose, light sketch, and kept adding layers of shading to get it to look like this.

No, I didn't get in trouble. This was done while I was waiting to be called up for jury selection (which never happened).

I think my doggy is the best, too. We can make the "We have the bestest doggies evah!" group. My baby boy is a Rottie mix. Most cutest darn thing EVER.

Thank you. Sketching on a Wacom is tough. I love mine now, but it's definitely not the same as pencil and paper.

You know, as I was driving back from Kent (why did I get called up for jury duty in Kent when I live in Seattle?), I was thinking the exact same thing. Sitting and drawing for a few hours (they let us go at noon, so I evaded serving on a court case) was great!
I should have told them I'd volunteer if they ever needed people to come and sit in the waiting room (and not get selected to be on an actual court case). I'd do that any day.
