This version is a good deal closer to how the original looked; I had to edit it manually in an image editor online. It's still not quite right. Has anyone else had problems like this in the past?

Ignore this for now !! The colors and saturation of my pieces on dA differ from the originals as viewed in Photoshop (see this post for an example), and I'm trying to figure out why and how to fix it.

This one was very - unplanned! Sketching wasn't doing it for me so I kind of went straight to painting instead.

I wanted to focus on grouping lights and shadows - simplification of contrast, and strong focus. It involved a lot of squinting.
