First of all, brilliant manipulation. I love the concept and I love the execution even more. Both the cloud and the girl stock is well used, and although it is a manipulation and not a photo, the impact is just as huge. That is the cool thing about it, you can go beyond what mere photography can do. And, as photography can make you feel, so can this. As for emotion, this is fluid with sadness. It's obvious that this girl died young, but in her life she could never have the completeness that she did in death. That is sad without a doubt, but it's also positive because she can now do what she loves, and that is play. If this wasn't good, you couldn't do what I just did; imagine. Another thing I like about this is that you used clouds, not Heaven, not Hell. Nothing political, nothing religious. It's stating nothing about your personal beliefs, it's merely saying that she has died. I honestly can't say that I would've liked it as much if she were in a digital Heaven because I can't relate to it because I'm not religious. This way, it relates to a larger group of people, the religious and the not equally, and no one is offended.
Now for grievances. Really, there are only two. I love the idea of her being in the sky, that's what makes this what it is, but shouldn't she have a cloud below her? I love the way the shadow was done, but that's the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to death. As for the font that was highly critiqued in the earlier comments, I don't have that much of a problem with the font itself, just the 's' in 'soloist'. I'm thinking a red outline with a white fill for the 's' would look much better. Other than that, no complaints.

I did have a battle with the 2 grievances you stated but in the end i settled on what "felt" right for me. For whatever reason, i just felt more comfortable with the current version. I'll keep analyzing this and maybe make a change in the future.

Hey, no problem at all. And yeah, I definitely understand. I've done a lot of things with both writing and more visual work over the years that people never really liked, like something as simple as use of a font or a few words in a chorus that people thought needed to be changed. And really, I just did what felt more like home for me. So, as I see it, I was only critiquing what I see as set in stone. I wouldn't ever expect you to change it, I certainly wouldn't change my own.
But yeah, I'm glad my words are appreciated, man. Yours are too.
