Quick sketch of Code Lyoko’s Best Girls Aelita Hopper and Ishiyama Yumi! They’re one of my favorite retro ships, from way back when I didn’t realize my love of two girls being together was very, very much so me coming to my queerness in middle and high school.
I like to think that they’re about 18-19, and are now dating at a university in Japan. Perhaps Yumi’s decided to move back to Kyoto -I’m headcanoning Kyoto Women’s College- and Aelita decided to move too, aiming to work in Computer Engineering and Robotics. I really like the notion of Yumi going into Fashion or Design.
At this point, I like to think that Aelita has talked Yumi into wearing “brighter colors” which mostly consist of deep purples and touches of pink because of her Princess of a girlfriend. Aelita’s let her hair grow a bit, and rocks lots of pink one-piece dresses with peter pan colors. Also, pink contacts because that’s super fun!
Point is they’re very very cute and I’m really happy with this warm-up. Now I can get into a bit more dynamic drawing for the afternoon!
