Saw this in a suggestion and... I just noticed how Garuda this kaiju is. India, conqueror of serpents, etc. Epic. Phenoraixa and Grimm's KCELL brotha-from-anotha-mutha.

Ironically enough, Gayan is the origin of Garudas and Harpys.

Harpies, eh? I don't see how thats possible since he doesn't look that human. Then again, Godzilla was a "Gorilla Whale" and yet he does not resemble it.

In the new bio I put out (this pic is the first take on Gayan made for TT's contest, it is no longer canon) It explains the connection Gayan has to the Garuda and Harpy. If you go check it out and give it a read it should make more sense.

Whoah, I didn't realize how alike this guy and my Kaiju were.
Well, they are alike in the fact that they are total opposites, Gayan lives in the sun and it is where he is most powerful. My Corvosaurus Rex dwels in the darkness of storm clouds, sort of a yin and yang thing, light and dark if you will.
Enough about that.
Now I love the hole look of this guy and as Tyrantis said, there just aren't enough kick-ass bird kaiju around.

Indeed, we must have the battle of sun and cloud.
But as you said, there are things to do and time for that later.
Also, the Gayan in this pic looks a bit more like a falcon now that I'm looking at him and I see what you mean about needing to "eagle" him up a bit.

My favorite thing about this guys is that he looks so damn heroic. This kaiju looks like he'd talk like an Arthurian knight and be a perfect gentleman.
Then you read the story and find out he's a total bastard. That is some delicious irony. I loves me my irony.
Also, it is beautifully drawn in all regards. And kudos for using the snake's natural enemy, an eagle, as the base for your kaiju. Not only does it make a hell of a lot of sense, but it also helps with the critical lack of avian kaiju. Well done all around.

A million thanks man. This is what I like about this little community of ours. Other artists notice things in your work, that you yourself, didn't realize when making it. We do need more biodiversity in the Kaiju food chain don't we? Its kind of annoying when the lead monster in every series is some kind of carniverous dinosaur. Building off your Arthurian knight idea, you could think of him as the kaiju equivilent of the holy grail. Whoever gets him on their side first wins. The snake vs. eagle thing also ties into the indian god Garuda; who was known to be a slayer of serpents and dragons in service of higher powers.
