When I waited for you that day,before the sun drifted off to sleep.
I saw the future for both of us,
Hand in hand and lips to lips.
The hours I spent awaiting your arrival
were filled with the dreams to come.
We'd dance beneath the stars
and share timeless moments together.
We'd laugh and smile in the arms of the other,
and watch as the sun begins to awaken.
But the sun awoke countless times over,
as I waited for you since that day.
The future I saw had yet to come,
just as you have yet to arrive.
Angels had come and invited me over.
I declined, telling you'd be here soon.
I know you're only a little late,
