So I was so inspired by CrazyMagicOne and her awareness challenge and I thought I would try myself and add another message that means so much to me, I hope you don't mind me joining in Summer. It's all for awareness and all~
So October is the month of Breast Cancer Awareness and the colour is pink!~
Cancer has always been a part of my life, I've had a few aunts and my great-grandmother died of breast cancer. I've already had a 'lump' scare this year but thank goodness that the test was negative, it really scared me. I am born with the gene 'BRCA2', everyone is born with these genes - these genes help repair tissue in the breast - but mine is abnormal. This doesn't mean I will get breast cancer for certain, it means that my chances are higher. My mother and aunties have this faulty gene, my grandmother and her sisters had it, even my father's female relations have it. It's most likely if I have daughters or if my sisters do, they will have the same gene.
Every year at May, my sisters and I (unfortunately, I couldn't join them this year) always do the mud runs in the beach we live nearby. It's so much fun dressing up in pink clothes, skirts, cowboy hats anything pink
And next year, I'm planning to have my hair chopped so it can be donated to 'Pretty Princesses' charity that makes wigs for little girls and boys that are battling cancer. I have at least 24-26 inches of hair right now, the hair dye needs to fade out of my hair but I'm donating at least 10 inches and maybe even 14 inches (if I gain the courage). I might even do a Go-Fund-Me page for that when the time comes ;3
It's time that we think Pink and live Green~

And today (In England, not sure everywhere else) is Mental Health Awareness Day and the colour is green!~
Mental Health is still a big taboo subject to talk about in this modern day and age but yet millions of people are diagnosed with a mental illness, such as; depression, bipolar, anxieties/panic disorders, ADHD, OCD, Autism and that's only the start of the list!
If you want to see the complete list, please check here; Mental Disorders and Conditions
As lots of my close friends and watchers would know; I have got my fair amount of mental disorders. Bipolar, PTSD, bulimia, dyslexia, survivor's guilt (I'm surprised that one isn't on the list), panic disorder and social anxieties. And when I was a child, I use to suffer from Todd's Syndrome or it's more common name 'Alice in Wonderland disease'.
Mental disorders are a forbidden topic in my family even though it's very common, where I went to the hospitals to get help for my problems, it's looked down on by distance relatives as I'm apparently making a 'big deal' over a 'sad day' or wanting attention. I found it hard to deal with at the beginning of my teens but now, I'm not worried by the negativity of it. Lots of the young children down my lane like making fun of me when I'm riding my horse, saying they would catch the 'craziness' from me. I don't take any notice anymore but is it normal to tolerate this from people that don't understand?
Ignorant creates fear and that is the stigma of mental illnesses. Just because it's invisible, people don't understand.
Some disabilities and illnesses are visible to the human eye and they understand it more, most mental illnesses are INVISIBLE.
Lots of mental illnesses are overdramatized on television and books but most illnesses are liveable.
Yes it is very hard but if we made this world understand that by talking about these problems, maybe we will learn and understand it better. That is the problem, people are scared to talk about mental illnesses. It does exist and the problem isn't going to go away. My grandmother told me that in her day, cancer was hardly spoken about. If that's changed then why can't it change with mental illnesses?

And I just want to explain the little butterfly on Westar's cheek.
It's a butterfly with a semicolon as the body.
The butterfly is a symbol with mental illnesses (especially depression), it's a presentation of that although things may not be good now, you will get through your dark battle and change into a beautiful butterfly.
The semicolon is another presentation. Lots of people are getting tattoos of a semicolon to show that they decided to continue their life, even when they wanted it to end.
There's a product called the Semicolon Tattoo Product and before Christmas, I'm going to get a semicolon butterfly tattoo to put an end to mental illness stigma but also show others that there's always a choice.
Be strong; your story doesn't have to end yet~
For more information, please check this video;
What is the Semicolon Tattoo Project?
For CrazyMagicOne 's awareness project, these are the rules;
And please favourite the original art; #InPink (Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge)
And give her a watch, she's so kind and understanding ;3
~RULES~
- Copy and paste these rules
- Draw whatever character you want wearing some sort of pink clothing
- Bases are permitted, but give credit when due
- Put " #InPink" in the title and/or the description of your picture
- Tag five other people (optional)
Instead of 5, I will tag 40 instead ^w^
It doesn't matter if you draw your ponysona or fursona in the colours of pink (for breast cancer awareness) or green (for mental illness awareness), it's more than enough for awareness. Even if you haven't got time to draw anything, just sharing a journal about this and tagging your friends is still sharing awareness!~
And for any haters that come on my page, I am not doing this for pity-seeking. I am doing this to spread an awareness to something that is close to my heart
Let's talk about breast cancer, let's talk about mental illnesses~
Let there be drawings of ponies/animals/humans wearing pink and green everywhere!~
Let's break the stigma once and for all!
Thank you for reading and spreading awareness everyone

heheh, I should have armswield in his original red and green colors embarrassed about him being red and green, then I could have sally smiling saying "I'm already pink!"

Yea I dont think I can do that though, I lost the texture assets for armswield and making sally would involve a lot of work, and thats time I dont have since I'm currently creating a game in unity.

When you said green, I thought it was in reference to the eco-warrior nutjobs. I was going to give a resounding no on that, but now I see it means something else. I have no problem with breast cancer awareness of course, but I wish prostate cancer would get equal footing.
