My 5th and final Sanguinary Guard. I really like his pose and I deliberately left the wings off. This is my favourite Sanguinary Guard model

I know this is old but I was wondering if you by some miracle still have the wings?

I believe so. I was thinking about using them on my Captain [link] but a friend talked me out of it... So I believe they're still on the frame. So... Miracle occured! I still have the wings.

How much would you want for the wings? Or trade?
I have:
OOP Vindicator (painted for Dark Angels)
OOP Whirlwind (not painted but mostly assembled)
Black Templars vehicle upgrade sprue (unpainted and on sprue)
Space Marines bits (weapons, accessories, and such...unpainted)

Yeah... I would like to trade it but your page says you live in the US.. I live in the Netherlands so it would be quite expensive to send something (even so small). And besides that I only have one pair of wings.. Check out this site.. [link] It's a English site where they sell spare bits.. They don't have them in stock right now but you can order a pair of wings (including jump pack) for about 2,5/3 dollars... [link] If you still want to trade let me know

Yeah that would be expensive. Thank you for the site. I have other bits sites saved, but not that one. I'm making my own chapter. I want the wings for all my assault marines. I just wish they didn't get rid of the traits in the 5th ed space marines codex. I'm gonna have to pick up the blood angels codex too...lol

Looks really nice. But might I offer 2 tips to make it even better (or at least future models).
1) Drill out the weapon nozzle.
2) remove the mold lines (looks like you got most of them on this guy, but I do see one of the plasma pistol)

The paintjob is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you've painted the metal. I'll have to remember I can use washes on metal colours without them going dull.

The metal was duller then before but I re-higlighted much of it... I don't know how I could ever paint without washes...

I'm still getting used to using washes. Still, looks very good. If anything, making the rest of the armour dull makes the metal highlights stand out even more.

yeah.. But on Bolter and Chainsword I saw some pics of Vanguard Veterans with the wings as Storm Shields... Those looked very cool!

There are models with their guts hanging out... There are zombie-robots.... There are vikings in power armour riding around on wolves... and you think a shield shaped like a wing looks weird xD

I only used the Sanguinary Guard boxed set but I cut off the Iron Halo on one of the helmets. If you mean paint, I used Shining Gold and Burnished Gold with an Devlan Mud wash for the armour, Scab Red and Blood Red for the red parts, Regal Blue with an Shadow Grey drybrush and Enchanted Blue highlight, Mithril Silver and Devlan Mud for the metal and finally Dark Angels Green with Camo Green for the eyes
