This one takes a little explanation. Project FREELANCER in it's early days. I figure they would recruit only the very best of the best soldiers of the UNSC. Whether they were marines, ODSTs, or any other branch. Which is why Wash and Maine(the blurry one) are in ODSt "dress blues" and everyone else is either marine or navy. For whatever reason their "blues" look identical.

The idea here is this was a photo of the first soldiers to graduate from traing into fullfledged agents, but just prior to the AI experiments that tore the group apart turning friends into hated enemies. So everyone here is very optimistic looking. They knew they were the best and that they were going to be the ones to win the war against the Covenant. So Wash dosen't have his trademark scars and Wyoming has a little bit more hair on his head than in Luke Mckay's design. Also I don't believe in showing Maine/Meta's face unless someone from Rooster Teeth says what he looks like, so I blurred him out after I drew him. The story is that, shortly after the graduation ceremony, the Director of Project FREELANCER, Dr. Leonard Church took this photo of his top recruits. Of course at the last second Maine decides to be funny and gives Wash bunny ears just as the camera flashes blurring his face.
