Description
If you own an Aural that defies this new way of expression, then it can stay the same. I'm not worried about changing them. All their offspring however, will be under the new system. If you want your Aural to have it's markings changed to fit this system, then let me know.
All markings are black! Some also have accompanying white markings, which are always white and will not change no matter what genes the Aural has.
These four genes are the only four that turn the marking a different color. Markings are black in color, but are not considered black pigment that's why these four genes can change them no matter what.
Flaxen: The markings will never be black with flaxen (ff). If nf nothing shows. If the mane is a bright or light flaxen then the markings can be lighter. If the flaxen is darker, then the markings are darker. The markings do not have to be the same color as the mane, but they can be.
Silver: The markings will only turn silver if the silver gene is homozygous (ZZ). Other than that, they will stay black. The shade of the silver can range from a deep grey to a bright silver like the example above.
Pangare: Pangare will lighten the markings if the pangare gene is homozygous (PanPan). The markings will always be lightened to the same color as the pangare or darker. The markings will never be lighter than the pangare.
Double Cream: Double cream lightens the markings from black. (single cream does nothing to the markings) They can range in shade, but they will never be lighter or the same color as the coat. (Double cream lightens the mane as well, but I don't show that on the examples.)
