My first ever oil pastel deviant art!And I'm doing it in honor of the 3rd ever anniversary of the movie "Kubo and the Two Strings"!
Here, we have Kubo performing for the villagers as he reenacts his mighty father's battle against his grandfather, the Moon King!
Commentary: I used baby oil to make this possible, but it wasn't always so. There was an earlier draft of this, but I felt it was too good (or too beautifully gradient on its own) to use the baby oil on. So I made this specifically for baby oil. Imagine my surprise when it turns out it makes the picture look whole.
Another commentary: my favorite part of drawing this was the woods beyond the shinto gate, as well as the shinto gate itself.
