Description 'Coppery ponies,' indeed. Title fail when I'm sleepy. I didn't have enough characters for 'Looks like a sunset, tastes like copper, please don't lick the art.'

Hee!

This one is all real..acrylic and copper leaf on Claybord. Not done yet.. the horses need some dark / detail thrown back in.

If'n you want, you can have a look at the progress this has had on my LJ: [link]

I'll try to remember to update this deviation when this thing is actually DONE.

Buf, you DO know how to draw horses!

Those animals are probable the most dificult ones to draw hehe But I think you have a special talent to express their dynamism, their... life. It is awesome.

They are difficult to draw, all the moreso because I love them and I'm very picky.. I try, though! I love trying to capture something of their energy and, well, horse-ness!

I am hugely fluffed and happy that you like it... thank you so much! Now I just need to finish it.

Thank you very mucho! I'm a complete and total sucker for texture in my paintings; and will spend crazy amounts of time pecking with a sponge or scratching with an Xacto knife to get it just right.

It looks gorgeous so far! Do you sell your art anywhere?

Thank you! *whew* I honestly didn't think this one would draw much attention on dA; it gives me a decidedly warm fuzzy feeling that people like it.

At current moment my art is only for sale in one local gallery; the town I live in has a very meh art scene, however. The plan, *knock on wood*, is to get it into an online gallery that a good friend of mine is starting soon, and in general run from there. This painting will be for sale when it's done. Heck.. if it's in my gallery, it's for sale, or I'll make it for sale as a print. My boss at the Day Job of Doom got downright verbally abusive last week, and enough is enough. It's way past time I got serious with my art.

Oh, wow.. sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant, didn't it?

That's ok, I don't mind listening to rants! *laugh*

It sounds like a good plan. I have a few friends who have decided that enough is enough with dead-end jobs and have decided to pursue their more artistic talents, or go travel and figure themselves out, and I am so proud of them!

For myself, I am hoping to start my own business when I graduate (I am studying medical illustration), so good luck to both of us

I noticed you are on LJ, do you mind if I add you?

Not a bit! I've just started doing the LJ thing recently; but it's a fun place to, well, journal my various little experiments, so I can remember what I did.

Yes, good luck to both of us! Art is a bit scary, but fun as well.. it still seems like a cheat to me that people can make a living doing something fun, but apparently it's quite possible and I am going to try!
