Heehee. Horses do rule...but I'm a Coldblood all the way!! Riding Draft rules! Feel the *power*!

Have you been to If not you should. We are having an Arabian contest!

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-09-30 05:06:29 +0000 UTC]

Are halflingers considered coldbloods? Anyway, draft horses do have a whole lotta power. My friend wants to ride a shire horse. That'll be fun!! Do you have a horse? Yeah, I'll think of joining that. Thanks! HORSES RULEZ!!

Phoenix-Lord In reply to Rayeo [2006-09-30 13:01:38 +0000 UTC]

I don't own a horse at the moment, but I am training a Belgium Draft for a therapy riding place. You can see a pic of her in my gallery Mandy Mei. She's never been ridden, only driven so she's a challange. And yes I belive halflingers are colds.

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-09-30 13:43:38 +0000 UTC]

cool! i volunteer at a theraputhic riding place too! I volunteered at the theraputhic riding center of israel for half and year and is now volunteering at Riding for the disabled singapore! Cool, that draft would be a great horse, good temperament and strength for the kids!

Phoenix-Lord In reply to Rayeo [2006-09-30 13:45:13 +0000 UTC]

Sweet! Isn't it amazing what the horses can do for kids? It's wonderful to met another person involved in therapy ridding.

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-10-01 01:30:27 +0000 UTC]

Its amazing to see the kids improve with the horses. ONe moment the kids are silent as tombstones..the next moment when they see a horse..they become so talkative! Thats the magic of horses!!

Phoenix-Lord In reply to Rayeo [2006-10-01 02:43:19 +0000 UTC]

I know! It's the most beautiful thing to see! The horses teach me as well, teach me that there is such a thing as unconditional love, more importantly that that love is inside me. I love the horses unconditionally, through their good days and their bad, I know that they always have the soul of a healing Angel.

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-10-01 12:30:21 +0000 UTC]

Very well said. I cannot agree more. Have you heard of monty roberts aka the horse whisperer? Hes doing the reverse to horses, healing the abused etc. Its nice to think that somehow we can repay what they have given us.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phoenix-Lord In reply to Rayeo [2006-10-01 13:58:14 +0000 UTC]

I have heard of him. I worked at a wildlife center and we would get horses taken away from people by the police. They always ended up such sweet animals despite all they'd been through.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-10-01 14:53:52 +0000 UTC]

aww..thats a happy ending. Too many horses are deemed "un-fixable" and put down. Its always so sad because its never their fault. Its never the animals fault when something happens, its always the humans. If a horse kicks, its because the humans scared or hurt it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phoenix-Lord In reply to Rayeo [2006-10-01 15:45:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, everytime I've ever been bitten or hurt by any animal I always except 150% of the blame!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rayeo In reply to Phoenix-Lord [2006-10-02 12:25:34 +0000 UTC]

hahhaha yeah.... i don't believe in hitting an animal unless to teach them not to bite you. Like if a horse tries to bite u tap him on the muzzle and say no. I hate seeing people abuse their animals because they refuse to move or something like that. I could talk about this the whole time!! maybe i outta write a book: Treat your horses right!! hahahahah Horses Rulez!!

Maeix2 [2006-09-29 12:02:28 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely gorgeous! The offset between the colours of the horse and those of the sand really brings out the heat of the desert. I'll just go and fav this now shall I...

Its amazing how even though we did the same horse, we put our own styles into it. I hope i did escape justice like how u did!

What is your next piece? I'm thinking of working in pastel because i'm kinda tired of arcylic. Thanks for the comment! Horses Rulez!!!

no denying, of course you did! the colors work so well together and you really captured his unique character and beauty... outstanding job my dear!
my next piece? god, i have a couple of drawings in progress and might get commissioned soon too

Rayeo In reply to Ponytail [2006-09-29 02:08:23 +0000 UTC]

cool! how did u get commissoned? do you have your own professional gallery? How much do u charge for your work?

I do favors for people, and in return they let me ride their horses or something like that. Perfectly fair trade..hahahaha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ponytail In reply to Rayeo [2006-10-03 10:23:30 +0000 UTC]

actually I didnt get commissioned yet... still waiting for the persons to contact me >.>... I bet they just changed their ipinion (like they usually do)... *sighs* eek I neither have a professional gallery nor a portfolio yet but I am trying to handle something out with a friend of mine who designs websites (and is really good at it too!). so let's see. though I definitely need more drawings for a portfolio!
by the way, I am about to finish the commission for ~GypsyMoon and then I will start a portrait of escape, just for myself -because I absolutely adore this horse -. thought I should let you know Lol
how is your artsy stuff coming along?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rayeo In reply to Ponytail [2006-10-03 13:39:38 +0000 UTC]

wayy cool! u really do like escape! any dreams of purchasing his offspring in the future? My dream is to have a mare out of the line of magnum psyche.

I'm currently working on a selfportrait of me and my fav horsey Winston. The horse looks great, i look very weird. Its for my AP studio art class, i'll have it posted within the week. Get ready for a few laughs..i can't look at it without laughing... self portraits are the hardest wouldn't you agree?

I'll be waiting to see the next great masterpiece of escape!! Horses rulez!!

This is awesome, Rachel! I think this might be one of your best artworks to date! I love the stylized but also elegant look of Escape... Gorgeous... Gosh, all the details: the dapples, the small nose, the tail and the lively eye... everything is almost perfect.

Thank you, hon!
