just so you knowwhenever it is that i decide to leave
my art and everything else is coming along with me
quick note: i'm not leaving today or tomorrow pls calm down
don't get me wrong i love to draw more than anything but a day will come eventually
where i have to pack up my bags n go
i love to draw and that's why i will deactivate my account when i decide to leave
not because of the tracers or theifs
but because life is a thing too lol
and i'm not going to leave my art on here forever
this is just a vent ok shh
edit: sadly, and non ironically, this picture has been recolored and traced
many times since its upload which proves how depressing this really is
nothing i can do to stop it but yknow, it's still sad

Personally i fail to see why art theft annoys so many people. I'm against it, but at the same time it's so easy to trace it down to the original artist. In a best case scenario, it will even bring popularity to the original artist from that extra sharing.
Also all artists need to start somewhere. We all started by being inspired or even copying some drawing we've seen somewhere. It's sort of a stepping stone for beginners to get better. Even here, Rasbii's artstyle is inspired from the Sonic franchise.
If leaving your art for free is a bother, there's always the possibility to gate a part of your artwork behind a Patreon. If you are sufficiently popular it shouln't be that hard to get started.

There is a fine line between copying and stealing however, those who are merely inspired by the art should at least give credit to the original (which as you said will bring popularity to the artist) but those who blatantly steal without giving credit are the ones who are at fault

I hate the people who steals the art of others, but do not lose the hope, do not allow that they should damage to you, you continue being the best. I know you for very little, but to see that to someone with the same passion for the art that I, my respect deserves. Please, do not leave us.

I know what it's like to have art stolen or taken credit for. hopefully I can see more art like this though. it's rather nice, and the style is rather simplistic as well as cute. keep up the wonderful drawing! ^.^

Ugh, it just sucks so much when people do things with your art without your permission, especially if they claim it as their own.
It's just unfair really that these people often tend to get away with it too, not to mention if they dont get taken down after reports are being sent.
Whatever you decide to do,
Please know that alot of people, including me, will keep supporting you either way.

i don't understand the reason why you should deactivate your account? i mean, you love to draw and want to share it with the world. for me there is no reason? and even if u leave one day. for whatever reason, the art you made so far can be still stored here. i mean it's a great portfolio und all the comments and followers can further a career, when it comes to the artist business.Β

I understand that you are venting, and you have every right to do so, but I, for one, would be saddened if you left. I love your art, and you have amazing talent, Rasbii. It both angers and saddens me that someone would try to claim your work as their own. That said, you have a life, as you have stated, and you should feel free to pursue it. I know that day is coming, and even though I would miss you and your awesome art, you deserve that chance to grow and experience life. But for now, I feel blessed to be able to enjoy your page and art.

I get it. I really do... at least, I think I do. I've never had anyone try to steal credit for something I've done like that. I'm in no position to talk, really. But, you're a good artist, and that's a fact. Nobody would ever try stealing from someone who drew bad, or even mediocre, artwork. And, look below this comment. Look at how many people want you to stay. I do hope you'll stick around for a while, and many others do too - probably a lot more than I do, considering my recency to your work.
Also, I'm probably overlooking something super important, but what about a watermark? That makes work a hell of a lot harder to steal, so I've heard.

It's nice to know that you don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I feel as if DeviantArt is a great chance for artists to make something of their art and themselves, all stealing/copying aside. And it'd be an absolute waste to just give it up over something like this to me, simply because anywhere that you're willing to present your art, will contain thieves at one point or another.
Don't give it up until you're SURE that you want to give it up.

Artists deleting their stuff, is the reason why I keep a special secret folder on my disc for saving the art I like, so I can look at it and admire whenever I want XD

Just like she said. Whenever she decides to leaves, she's taking everything with her. This means that she won't be posting her artwork anywhere on the internet. The only exception being for her friends who she deems close and trustworthy.Β
So again, when Rasbii is gone, she's gone no more her or her artwork anywhere unless thieves of any kind continue to persist.

I hate it when people Steal/Trace other peoples art. In the end, It will do them no good. Someone will notice and start callingΒ them out. It also shows that those people have no skillΒ or talent.
I don't understand why people do this. I feel bad for those who don't get credit for the hard work that they put into their art/characters.

Look at this. You've created your own group of fans, people who love you and your work. Many of us can only dream of that. Do you really want to throw it all away because you fear art thiefs. I don't want to act like I know what it's like to go through something like that, but I can tell you that you've come a long way. Old fans and new followers, we're all out there for you.

Β I've actually seen a lot of people lately copying your style. New to art people will always copy what looks pretty and is fairly easy to reproduce. But come on, is it so much, to start thinking about leaving? When an artist is popular, everyone will recognize their art anyways.
Β Also reminds me of one particular hedgehog, who's character kids were always using for their forum roleplays, renaming and giving hilarious bios. At least he took it with sense of humor.
