I didn't want things to be like this.
I wanted us to just stay friends.
But my heart had other ideas.
I wasn't supposed to fall for you
It wasn't one of my intentions
Yet it kills me to hear you say
That we'll only ever be friends.
Life has a cruel form of torture
So inhumane to watch us sufer
Yet there is nothing I can do
For you to give us a chance.
So instead, I stay a close friend.
Being as close as I can get away with
