Description Yay! I\'ve been working on this like mad lately

1. The sleeves. I made these separate from the main body of the coat; they\'re actually just two legs of pyjama bottoms I got from British Airways They\'re painted with Faded Malachite 1829 chalky emulsion paint from B&Q. The one on the left has 2 coats, the right 3 or 4. The dangly bits at the end are just red and white material and about 3 sticks of hot glue

2. and 3. Close ups of how the patterns look before and after repainting.

4. The thing that hangs from the back of the coat. About a third of the top\'ll be covered up, mind. Just textile, hot glue and Promarkers.

5. The big thing at the front! It\'s something like a tabard, so I\'ll just call it that from now on. Thick red material with some sort of ribbony stuff outlining most of it, white acrylic, that same 1829 stuff I was talking about earlier and some red ribbon hot hot glued to the bits sticking out at the sides. As noted in the picture the turquoise has been painted over with white; I found that the white on its own had a habit of sinking through and not staying there, so I just used that as base.

6. The shoulder part of the armour.

7. The front of the armour. The gem is cut from a sheet of red acetate and backed with gold chocolate paper to give it a warmer look.

8. A work-in-progress of the socks; don\'t bother minding this as much because (even though I glued the rope on in a spiral, which it shouldn\'t even be in the first place) they wouldn\'t come off, so I\'ve scrapped the idea The biggest loop which could fit around my heel was too big which would make it too floppy. I\'m now thinking of using aqarium tube (like ) or rolled up lengths of this same gold stretchy material. Other things to blame are my giant feet (UK size 7 1/2 to 8), my dad being at work all the time even if it\'s the hols and my uncooperative mum.

9. The finished armour and helmet! By now the armour also has two halves of a foam ball so it will sit higher on my shoulders, which means the helmet is less likely to wobble aound as much as it did before. A while ago I was thinking of a hinge system, but I soon figured it wouldn\'t work and scrapped it.

10. The back of the armour and helmet. It all fits a lot more snug now, thanks to the doubled-up foam on the armour and a thing I\'ll be wrapping around my neck to stop the inside from scratching me

11. A side view of the armour and helmet. When I actually wear them they have a habit of sitting at a different angle to each other, but this\'ll do for now.

12. The back of the armour. Surprisingly I got the entire thing covered with foam and carboard patterns in one night because I was very motivated

Definitely about 60%-65%. The only things I haven't got any work on yet are the shoes and the baggy trouser things.
