Description I went hunting with my camera in the morning. I thought I'd come back home with nothing when I spotted this beauty digging through the snow to get to some green plants in a field. As the snow cover is over half a metre thick, initially it was difficult to guess what I was watching - only the ears of the roe deer were sticking out.

This is a great photo! I love deers. In The wood behind our house you can see deers every day and i like to watch them from the path, but I can never get that close, to take a good photo.

I guess I was lucky. Also, a 300mm lens help a bit.

Love it!
I wonder if he's one-eyed considering the strange blue coloration of his right eye...

Just uploaded another image of the same roe deer. You were right about the strange colouration in its right eye!

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me if, like you said, it played a part in the way you were able to approach him.

Thus said it shows the quality of your pictures, since this kind of coloration must be quite difficult to detect otherwise.

You're probably right about why it was so easy for me to approach the poor creature...

As to the pictures, I never interfere with what the camera saw in any way. Which is one way of saying I don't know how the hel to use Photoshop or any other advanced picture processing software. All I do is adjust contrast, saturation, etc., using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.

Hey, don't worry, I kinda prefer it when I know that the photo is not too much retouched.

Ha! I never noticed it. I just thought it was a reflection of a wider stretch of snow in its right eye, but no! I have just consulted all the other pics I took on that day, and its right eye IS bluish! And definitely different from the left one. In retrospect, I think there was something wrong with it, the way it let me approach itself so easily... At the time I thought it was just the cold, but obviously the animal is not well... Pity...
