7/15/04 - I originally began this image intending to use it as the cover for Otazine, the manga anthology published for Otakon this year. However, as I neared closer and closer to the image's final incarnation, it was decided that a more traditional style would better suit the Otakon mascots, and make them more recognizable to the public. Also, as I still needed time to work on my comic submission for the anthology and reworking the entire cover in another style would cut into the time frame allotted for the comic work, the cover was passed on to another artist.

I almost submitted this into the anime category, but I figured it was still drawn in my style even if they are the Otakon mascots, and the reason it wasn't used in the first place was because it wasn't in a familier anime style.
