Description I'm indifferent about the markings I gave Starlight. She has all the markings a pure-bred unicorn would have (in my style) but still I'm not quite sure.

Starlight Dazzle Glimmer, or just Starlight, was the first pupil of Twilight Sparkle before the Equestrian Leaders stepped down. Twilight was crowned the new queen of the land, and because of this shift in power and responsibility, she ultimately had to give Starlight up, she no longer had the time to tutor.

Having been dropped as a student, Starlight was left soured by the humiliation. Although being told that it was due to not having time, Starlight felt that really Twilight had caught onto her but didn't want to outright accuse. It was either that or Twilight must've thought Star was no longer worthy enough. Whatever the reason, Starlight was stuck in her "betrayed" thought process.

It was true that Starlight never really cared for friends or being taught about the magic of friendship, the only reason she stuck around was that she was important to a powerful alicorn. A princess. With being taken under the naive, good for nothing, princess Twilight's wing, Starlight had all the protection and power she needed. She could upset, abuse and manipulate ponies as much as she wanted, as long as she said sorry and 'learned a lesson about friendship', she would remain in everyone's good books.

All good things must come to and end however. Even if she was no longer a student, Twilight still considered Starlight a friend, that was until years of fury exploded into a heated argument. Neither pony wishes to discuss what was said that day, but it was bad enough to end their friendship and reliability on one another. Starlight was banished from the Canterlot Castle and had her ownership of the School of Friendship revoked as a result.

Star now had nopony. Not even her best friends Sunburst, Maud or Trixie. Sunburst was in a new relationship, Maud was busy travelling, and Trixie was nowhere to be seen. She'd ruined it all. Why couldn't she have just kept her muzzle shut?

Luck was just around the corner for her when she met Prince Blueblood. An elite who, despite not having much power, was suitable for Starlight. For now at least.

Not long after meeting, Starlight had the prince wrapped around her hoof. She'd succeeded in manipulating him. Her name was all over the news and streets after her falling out with the Queen, but she was trained well to play the victim, and the victim is what she was in her new boyfriend's eyes.

Oh how much she missed being in control. It wasn't much, but the power she had over Blueblood was enough to satisfy her.

---

That's where I'll leave it for now. I have a lot planned for Starlight so I don't wanna give too much away. I personally have no problem with Starlight, I like her, but I don't like how poorly she was written in the show. In some other people's universes, she's depicted as an evil little unicorn. Of course I got attached to the evil Starlight, so evil is what she became. My plans for her certainly go over the top, but how I personally envision Starlight and how I want her story to go, it's fitting.
