Description The peculiar long-jawed Pterodaustro guinazaui is known from apparently hundreds of specimens, and all of the skulls show that the lower jaw is lined with literally hundreds of elongated, pencil-like teeth; the upper jaw, though, has hundreds of tiny triangular teeth; the lower jaw was probably used for straining tiny invertebrates from the water.
