Description Original design drawn roughly a year ago: [link]

Translated to model form with sculpey and acrylic paint: [link] [link]

Illustrated in gouache paint, here, for an assignment at RMCAD (we were to take our sculpey models and paint them in gouache). I realize the design differs visibly from the initial drawing, the reason being that putting that design into sculpey accurately was rather difficult. I prefer the original design myself.

One of the walkers under Commissar Vasili Kentov's command, assisting in breaching a barricaded subway tunnel under NWI control.

Vasili commands B-company of the 1st Battalion of the 7th Guards Motor Rifles Division (an ASUN expeditionary force). 1st Battalion of the 7th Guards supports local ADA Tunnelers and AFM Guardsmen in Colorado, post Third-War. They are a mechanized infantry and cavalry division, with A-company comprising ground troops and transports, B-company consisting of support walkers and some IFVs, and C-company being primarily Main battle tanks.

B-company walkers are typically painted patterns of the standard leaf-green and burnt umber, sometimes solid and othertimes in camouflage, with blue stripes down the sides.

The "nose" or "chin" is painted red, which often draws enemy fire towards this point; one of Vasili's ideas - this frontal point is very well armored to protect the commander/pilot inside and it is unlikely for an anti-armor round to penetrate it, thus this leads enemy attacks away from the more vunlerable leg sockets and "sweet spot" under the turret.

The original design of the Anvil called for a crew of three; Pilot, Coplilot/radio operator, and Gunner. Due to advances in communication via routing signals underground through the international subway system, the radio operator became mostly obsolete. SOP Post-Third War for Anvil ISWs is to crew by pairs, with a Pilot Commander and a dedicated gunner. As the commander traditionally sat in the rear of the cockpit, Anvils were systematically updated to add additional armor behind the cockpit glass of the front seat, further protecting the commander.

Great design. Only flaw if it goes against people who played mech games and know the legs are always the weakest (nothing like sniping of a mech leg and leaving him stranded like a retard in Mech Warrior 2 ).

Yeah, I know that's the "standard" for mechwarrior, but personally I think it wouldn't be as much of a weak point if they were designed to be armored well and smaller, and thus much harder to hit.

Thanks!
