Description September 11, 2011;  Shanksville, PA

The sight was so quiet and peaceful, it almost betrayed its true nature. There was a thin breeze that gently swayed the trees in the field, the sound of the rustling leaves was calming in a way. In the dead center of an empty plain, a large boulder of what was made of sandstone marked the spot where the infamous plane was brought down in a crash landing. The few brave passengers of flight 93 knew there was only one chance in ending the horrific event before it could even start. They made the sacrifice to keep others safe from the horrendous attack. The wreckage was long gone, but the invisible scars that were left by this act will never be forgotten.

Surrounding the mark,  a marble wall with the names of the heroic bystanders that acted stood to tell the tale of what went on during that momentous day. Jake sighed softly as he place a hand on the cold marble wall. The grooves of each name slid under his fingers as he ran his hand down the list. Jake himself had only been a kid when this tragedy happened, not really understanding what exactly was going on. No one in his family had been hurt in the attacks on 9/11, but seeing this memorial along with the many other humans and pokemon that came here today showed him that there was still suffering and grief that he could feel as well. Jake let his hand slide from the marble wall to his side taking another moment to just stare at the numerous names that were inscribed. He looked out into the field where the boulder stood, thinking about how much pain there must have been when this happened. A hand reached out and clasped onto his shoulder. Jake jumped, a little startled since he lost himself in his thoughts. One of his partners, Haze, looked out into the field as well to memorize this moment for the rest of her life. Even Dagger closed his eyes in a moment of silence, saying in his mind a small prayer for those lost on the day.

Jake took a deep breath as he spoke softly, "This is why we must honor those who give there all in life. I hope that there will be a day when tolerance will be accepted by everyone."

taking one last look out into the field, Jake watched as some wild pokemon came closer as well, as if they knew what had happened here that day and offered a moment of silence themselves.

Haze tapped Jake on the shoulder, "Ready Jake?"

Jake nodded, and with that the team took their leave. The hearts and minds heavy, yet light with the overpowering emotions of sadness and revelation.
