This is a gift/thank you for the wonderful I commissioned her to do my journal and although it was a commission, I love it so much I figured she deserved something a little more. This was gonna be something a little simpler but uhh, I just kept working on it. She says she likes my bgs so I TRIED to give her a nice one, unfourtunatley, that waterfall is more of an eyesore than anything else >.<Anywho, this is her char Chinook! She has so many awsome ones but I really liked this guy's form, or whatever XD I have another sketch done of someone else but I think I'll keep that for our trade (b/c I'm making you do one with me in the future... far into the future) Plus, I don't know if I've seen a whole lot of fan art for this guy! you have such awsome designs, no one should be left out (and I think I'm going to kidnap some of your chars, they're all so hot!!)

one a separate layer, I use a soft edge brush on low opacity.. if that made any sense, lol!

HELLO LATE COMMENT. Omfg I'm so sorry it took me this long, I can't BELIEVE I put it off so badly. Hopefully you're not too pissed off at me, and that this comment at least makes you smile x)
First of all, I LOVE your backgrounds. "Like" doesn't cover it ;D Part of that is because my own backgrounds are epic fail, and I know how incredibly FRUSTRATING it is to do them. Not to mention timeconsuming, and a lot of the time... boring xD For me anyway. So the fact that you've got the skill/patience to do such gorgeous backgrounds so often really impresses me. On top of that, you manage to do backgrounds often, but they aren't repetitive or boring or even unexciting. Especially in ones like this, with the waterfall, it gives the background life and makes it more interesting. It just amazes me that you can do that xD I've always been so impressed by them, haha. I also admire how much detail you put into them; things like the moss on the tree and the birds in the background make it more realistic and enjoyable.
I also love how you draw characters. Your style is very realistic, and I've always found that drawing that way makes it hard to draw different characters of the same species so that they don't look the same. Wow I worded that badly, so let's see if I can explain xD In styles like mine, that are more cartoony, people usually exaggerate things to make characters different. You have to warp things like anatomy and facial features to make them different. But you can't do that quite as easily if you've got a realistic style. At least, I have trouble with it, haha. Maybe that's a matter of opinion.
Anyway, I'm trying to say that you still give Chinook character, which amazes me, because I've always had a hard time doing that if I'm drawing realistically. That's one of the things about your art that impresses me, because it takes skill that I... don't have xD I just think it's really cool, haha. And I don't know if you've ever been told this SO<3
And then of course we get to your coloring. I feel like I need to gush about it a bit, because it really stood out to me in this picture. I LOVE. How you color. How you can make it so soft, but it's still defined enough to look the way I'd think it ought to? If that makes sense xD I think it's the mix of shading styles, it especially shows up in the fur, most noticeably on the chest in this picture. I love how you know what you're doing with it, haha. You shade so that you can tell how long the fur is, and it remains consistent and doesn't look all akward or anything. It's REALLY nice, I wish I could get that effect more often.
You have no IDEA how excited I was when I saw this omg. I don't usually get such amazing pictures, especially gifts! I'm flattered if not amazed that you'd spend so much time on something for me, I totally have to do something nice for you someday ;D WATCHOUT

This picture is gorgeous 8D I love how you did the waterfall, and the logs so far I've seen from you are amazing. The detail in them are fabulous. You shaded the character excellently, the grass is great, but I think my favorite part of the picture are the butterflies.
