Well I didn't even know they existed until this, but they look kind of like leopards, not that I think about it.

There's a link in the artists' comments, but...
It's a (presumed) extinct carnivorous marsupial that resembled a wolf. It lived on the Australian island of Tasmania and ate small animals like mice and birds as well as larger ones like possums and wallabies. Humans mistakenly believed it also killed sheep, and the Australian government offered bounties to those who killed it. It was hunted to presumed extinction in a few decades. However, there are many (myself included) who firmly believe that it is not extinct and exists deep in the jungles of inland Tasmania and perhaps even on the mainland.

OH MAN THYLACINES.
Beautiful creatures, downright gorgeous. One of my favorites. It's sad that they went extinct, but I must say, I already ADORE this char! She looks SOOOOO spunky and just devilish.

Yes, they are gorgeous, and THEY'RE NOT EXTINCT THEY EXIST!!!! You've heard of the wolverines in Michigan? The state is nicknamed "the wolverine state" but wolverines were hunted until they were supposedly extinct in the state. Decades passed with no trace of them, then a hunter treed one WAYYYY down in "the thumb". DNR came and confirmed, pictures were shot, etc. There's NO WAY one single wolverine could make it all the way down from Canada, around the lakes, and up into the thumb. There HAS to be a breeding population. I think there could be the same deal with the Thylacine, plus there's more land in Tasmania for them to hide in than for wolverines in MI. I'M A BELIEVER!!!
Thank you so much! A lot of care went into her design!
