Major League Baseball is back!The excitement! The hot dogs! The conspiracies! The flame wars!... well... EXCITEMENT & HOT DOGS! YAY!
Despite the national media blackout on the Baltimore Orioles, who made their first playoff berth in 15 years last season, I'm totally psyched for the season to begin. I can't recall the last time I felt this much enthusiasm or anticipation. You don't experience much at my age with my profession and lifestyle. But just going into the season knowing that the O's aren't the bottom-dwelling whipping boys of the A.L. Beast is more than sufficient cause for joy.
I haven't experienced a Baltimore World Series championship in my lifetime, but I'm not giving up on the possibility. And now it seems more feasible than ever. Others may not agree, but they didn't even count on the O's finishing 2012 with a winning record, and they more than exceeded those meager expectations.
Best of luck to the Baltimore Orioles in 2013! Kick Yankee ass and drive them into the gutter!
