Fossil evidence shows that these pokemon lived and raised young near the water, despite their type's weakness to it. Possibly as a way to protect their young from inland, rock-type , predators. They use the metal projections on their body to produce sound, often with some steam accompanying it. This sound is their first defense in battle as well as main means of communication. They can change the tone of their whistles by covering the holes with their fingers, even sustaining multiple notes at a time! They can walk both bipedally and quadrapedally.
