you hit the nail on the head and told me something that i really needed to hear.
"what does it say"
maybe that's why i have a hard time coming up with names for this stuff. lol
so i had to think about it.
i looked at it. still under amazement from the attention it's getting. but what does it say and it don't say anything. i do get feelings from it but those feelings are hard to explain and heck i'm sure it's more personal then commonly shared..

I did however pick the title revert the timeline based off the feeling.
"please come take me away from this crazy world lets go back to the simple times when all this other stuff wasn't around."

the electric , the poles the free way to the left of the site. that know one even knows about lol

Hey but thanks for your honest feedback i truly appreciate it and it will help me in the future. more so what does this say that is GREAT! thank you!

You're welcome. Remember, though... if it says something private to you or about you, that's okay too. It's your art. Never let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong when you have it the way you want it.

And not every image actually does say something tangible. In other words, take my advice for what it is: advice.

oh yeah for sure! just another mental note when i'm setting the shot up. most the time i just go off of feeling. or the "basic photography rules" but this is a great tip!!

I love this shot.

I am a huge fan of slightly darker pictures - it looks like a bit of vignette too which I love e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />. I think this really sets a mood for the piece. Spot on there!

I like the angle. I saw you said it was not an eye level shot - I think the angle helps simulate that it was. I am torn on the power line. Yes, I can see how it throws perspective off a bit, pointing to the sky at a weird angle. But my first impression of the picture was of someone who is lost trying to find their way, so in a surreal dreamy way it works (tracks lead home, distractions swirling around the tracks, etc).

Nicely captured, thank you for sharing! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />

Wow thank you very much
i tried to crop out the lines and it just don't seem to work well it takes away the impact of the track.
now i might try to clone a tree in there in a different piece but either way
Thank you for your honesty and your wonderful words

Train tracks always fascinate me. You never know where they lead. I like how you've captured this on what looks like a cloudy/gloomy day. It just adds to the mystery. I love the tilt!! Makes it more interesting. The only thing i'm not too big on is the border. I think it would look better if it was the full image. But that's just me.

i think the angle makes the photo more interesting than if it were just straight on. the processing also works, it really fits well with the moody sky. i like the power lines too, it compliments the lines of the tracks. good shot

Beautiful shot, I really like the dof on this one. The tilt just makes it look more artistic, more like an abstract shot almost, with lines converging in infinity...

I like how the angle of the horizon seems to follow the tracks. It could use some more objects or substance in the top of the image to balance it out but the weight on the bottom of the image is a nice touch.
I think you did a little too much post processing. My personal appeals are natural looks. And i feel the lighting had been thrown off in a peculiar way.

I adore this photo!
I don't know much about photography, but the one thing that I must point out is where the railroad track exits the picture. (the metal part~ I don't know what its called! Dx)
The way it exits the page at the corner is a bit uninteresting. If it had been moved up just slightly above the corner, it would have kept the viewers eyes on the image a bit more. But the way it is placed here drags your eye right off the page and doesn't entice it to come back.
But other than that, its lovely! I adore the darkness, and the angle = WIN.

DR4WNOUT [2009-10-05 16:43:35 +0000 UTC]

Truely a great piece. I think the tilt works in this, otherwise it would be quite a plain ol' pic of train tracks I've seen way too many times on DA, but yes, it makes it original. It's hard to notice the darkness of it cause my monitor sucks, but that overcast in the sky adds something, a little bit of atmosphere to it. Very nice work.

from

i can't find my way out with photos so you'll have a very accurate critique from me (^____^)

the tilt of the image gives me the sensation of "something wrong" but don't get me wrong (ops.. i used the same word two times in a row. did i get a bonus or something?) i like the image and i think that the tilt is good, it's only the sensation that it gives me not an error in the photo.
the focus in the distance makes me think about the "future along the way" and so the overall feeling is "there could be something a little twisted in the future of the path i choose to follow" which is a damn good feeling for a take-out-the-dog-to-his-things-walk photo.
i haven't seen the original colors but if the post processing is responsible of the tones the photo have is a good post processing because it adds to the overall feeling.

so, thumbs up for me

bye

I think this shot ... c'est parfait. The tilt is fine, it gives a unique angle (literally and figuratively) to the picture. The editing is really makes this shot what it is - you did really well.

If you're ever in this area again and it's stormy, try this shot again with some awesome clouds.

Other than that, great job! I like the electrical tower, it gives more height definition, like in a tableau you have to have different heights, you did that in this picture.

From gimmefeedback: The tilt shouldn't be there, I think. Makes the whole picture... confusing. Otherwise, it's a pretty interesting shot; I like the perspective.

i'm getting such a 50/50 feed back on the tilt some say keep it some say don't.
with out the tilt it don't have the direct line from the bottom left and it looks more traditional. so i'm not sure!
i might post both!

PROS:

Postproduction
Tilt
Mood

CONS:

Electric pole (crop to remove)
Focus (invert focus: focus close, unfocus little by little the railway in the distance)

The cropping didn't work it removed the impact of the tracks toward the bottom i was thing about editing it out. but advised against ed do to the title!
the focus was all jacked

I love this! It's Moody, but it's not Dark. Which is brilliant.
I'm a photo-manipulator, so I don't know alot about technical things for cameras (like aperture <-- wth is that?).
However, post-processing, this photo is really pretty. The tilt of the image adds direction and focus. Plus, most images like this that you see are flat-horizoned anyways... it's really refereshing to see tilted images every once in a while.
Also, the railway tracks lead the viewers gaze towards the distant clouds.

Well done!
