Collateral damage much? Wow. The HEAT cannons may tear open more wounds than they cauterize with all of that kinetic energy...
Actually you might be able to retrofit an induction heating system into the blades to give them a cautery effect. Localized, rapid thermal energy...like having an industrial scale microwave oven on a stick.

Well, the cannons more or less vaporize everything they hit, but they do cause a bit of residual splatter. The blades are the worst part, since they were designed for the specific intent of tearing kaiju apart. Wendigo itself was created for the sole purpose of bringing Kaiju down as quickly as possible, no matter the cost. Basically, when more feasible options have been exhausted, Wendigo is sent to end the fight.
As for adding a heating system to the blades, I considered that, but didn't use it for two reasons: A: it would be too much like Striker Eureka, and B: the blades' serration would render cauterization pointless since they'd be tearing off more than they could cauterize.
