Description A complete overhaul of my United States Jaeger, Wendigo Omega. This time, I did it without even touching the Jaeger designer. I added new(er) weapons, along with two cannons on its back and redid the design and color scheme.

Story Info:

Wendigo Omega was launched in 2016 as one of the earliest Mk IV Jaegers (may make it a Mk III). It was designed to deal with extremely dangerous Kaiju quickly and efficiently, and given the best weapons to do so. However, Wendigo Omega is also one of the 'messiest' Jaegers in battle, as its weapons were designed more with killing a Kaiju in mind rather than keeping said kill particularly contained, thus causing large leaks of Kaiju Blue into cities. This has often forced Shatterdomes to hold back Wendigo's deployment until the last possible moment. Its design would later inspire the Australian Jaeger Striker Eureka.

Wendigo Omega is armed with two massive serrated blades. The top of the blade is serrated, and meant for tearing apart a Kaiju, while the bottom is extremely sharp and built to slash through a Kaiju's tough hide. The blades also have a stylized painting of the Kaiju known as "Knifehead" on their outward sides. On its back are two HEAT Cannons, which fire large, powered tungsten slugs that have a coil that heats the projectile to nearly 3,000*C, which can instantly cauterize Kaiju wounds. It also has two STING missile pods in its shoulder plates, each of which an fire a volley of six missiles. These are meant more to distract the Kaiju than kill it, however.

The Jaeger was designed more for strength, armor, and speed, which made it terribly slow compared to other Jaegers of its type.

I used Striker's design as an inspiration for this Jaeger. For the design, I also took inspiration from stylized cartoon superheroes and male quarians from mass effect, giving it wide shoulders and an impossibly thin waist. Other elements were inspired by Halo, Transformers, and Star Wars.

Collateral damage much?  Wow.  The HEAT cannons may tear open more wounds than they cauterize with all of that kinetic energy...

Actually you might be able to retrofit an induction heating system into the blades to give them a cautery effect.  Localized, rapid thermal energy...like having an industrial scale microwave oven on a stick.

Well, the cannons more or less vaporize everything they hit, but they do cause a bit of residual splatter. The blades are the worst part, since they were designed for the specific intent of tearing kaiju apart. Wendigo itself was created for the sole purpose of bringing Kaiju down as quickly as possible, no matter the cost. Basically, when more feasible options have been exhausted, Wendigo is sent to end the fight.

As for adding a heating system to the blades, I considered that, but didn't use it for two reasons: A: it would be too much like Striker Eureka, and B: the blades' serration would render cauterization pointless since they'd be tearing off more than they could cauterize.
