Description A reimagining of the famous Captain Rex with standard stormtrooper with his signature blue armor marking. This would answer the questions ‘what if the inhibitor chip in Rex’s head had worked properly.’ ‘what if he never met Fives and never knew about the inhibitor chips.’ This  sure would be an interesting scenario. My lore on Rex would discuss about this scenario.

Rex, formerly designated CT-7567, was a veteran Clone Captain, Clone Commander, and Advanced Recon Commando who commanded the Grand Army of the Republic's famed 501st Legion of clone troopers during the Clone Wars. Rex participated in many battles over the course of the Clone Wars. As the captain of the 501st, Rex served as second-in-command to Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, whose bravery and unconventionality in battle he came to share. In addition to being a close friend of Skywalker, he also became friends with Skywalker's apprentice, Ahsoka Tano. He was close with Marshal Commander Cody, with their relationship mirroring that of their respective Jedi Generals, Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, whom Rex was also well acquainted with. Rex and his companions often worked together during the front-line campaigns against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Throughout his career, Rex proved to be an effective leader who truly cared for the men under his command, even as he began to doubt his own future—and those of his clone brethren—in the Republic. Rex was popular among both his Jedi superiors and his clone brethren. Rex and his men fought in many battles during the height of the Clone Wars, such as the Battle of Christophsis, the Second Battle of Geonosis, the Battle of Kamino, the Battle of Umbara, the Battle of Anaxes and the siege of Mandalore.

When Order 66 was issued, Rex was with Ashoka Tano on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, on the way back to Coruscant to deliver Maul into custody. Ahsoka came into the room then, feeling through the Force that something terrible had happened. The inhibitor chip had already taken over Rex's mind and all minds of clones presented. He and his men opened fire immediately. Ahsoka defended herself against Rex and the other present clones before escaping, but Rex managed to wound her, knocking out one of her lightsabers. Rex ordered the clones to hunt down Ahsoka, the captive Maul, and any who opposed the clones.

Ahsoka, hiding in the ventilator system, managed to evade Rex and his men but taking shots here and there, wounding her considerably. She soon realized Rex was too dangerous to fight and it was to late to save Rex, as she had no knowledge of the inhibitor chips. Ahsoka managed to reach Maul and decided to free him, as she realized that she could not survived alone. The duo barely managed to escape Rex.

Afterwards, Rex remained in command of the 501st legion, aka Vader’s Fist’. Upon arriving on Coruscant, Captain Rex and his men accompanied Darth Vader to the Jedi Temple during the Operation: Knightfall. Rex was eventually promoted to the rank of commander. Rex would remained with Vader as second in command of the reorganized 501st legion. He would continued in service of the Galactic Empire and remained loyal to the Emperor. He participated in various major battles, from countering the hit-and-run tactics of the rebel alliance to putting down insurrections on various planets, including Kamino.

This is what I like to imagine what happened to Rex had he follow through with Order 66. As a fan of the Empire and stormtrooper, I would love to see stormtrooper Rex fought alongside Darth Vader, crushing the rebel scums along the way.
