TANK (Myself)

This is an artwork I did depicting myself in the Street Fighter universe as per the Here Comes A New Challenger Meme: NEW CHALLENGER MEME . In true Street Fighter fashion here I have some alternate colours for my character. Basically, I drew inspiration from Street Fighter Third Strike's colour schemes, for example media.eventhubs.com/images/sf3…. Surprisingly, I managed to get all the way to the P6 costume (or Heavy Kick)

Art explanation: I have always liked the Street Fighter art style so here I did a full version of my entry for the HCACN Meme. The clothes are one-to-one with my leisurely clothes that I wear on a daily basis: dark blue/black Adidas sweat pants, and a plain white or neutral coloured t-shirt. I think that by keeping it basic it sort of fits the minimalistic character designs in Street Fighter. I had a lot of fun messing around with the Hue/Saturation option in Photoshop to get some unique player colours, I especially enjoy the P3 colour! Though you can probably tell I lost inspiration when it came to P5 and P6, however I wanted to exhaust all possible colours.

Process: I started out by sketching the preliminary pose for the character. Then I scanned the best sketch, and continued my work using the Wacom Bamboo MTE-450 tablet in Photoshop CS5. Next I layed down the base colours. Followed this up by adding the shading and highlights using light grey on adjustment layers set to multiply and screen respectively. I got that idea from in his HCANC meme www.deviantart.com/ryusuke/art… . Finally, I used the Hue/Saturation option in Photoshop CS5 to derive this final image.
