Description Professor Xavier: Another one?

Jean Grey: Yes Professor, even more vivid than last time. I-I'm scared, please make them stop.

Xavier: Well, normally I would just scan your mind to see firsthand what you have been seeing. But I believe that it would be for the best if you describe what you are experiencing. Saying it outloud can help you discover a way to overcome these terrible images. Whenever you are ready, my dear.

Jean: *sigh* It starts out in class; All of us are there. You're discussing... something I can't remember. But then you bleeding through your nose and right as I start to say something to let you know, you just start pouring out blood from everywhere; Eyes, ears and mouth. Scott and everyone else jump their feet with me staying in my seat, incapable of moving. As they near you, everything goes dark and I can't see you nor them anymore. The chair gives away and I'm falling until I land flat on the ground. I remember looking around and a spot light turns on above me. I looked up, covering my eyes to try to see but I gave up and tried to look out into the darkness.

Xavier: And what did you see?

Jean: It was horrible. It was some kind of creature, almost... well, it resembled a demon. Crooked horns and bright glowing red eyes, just standing there. Watching me. I remember trying to attack by throwing a telekinetic blast at it but it... it didn't even phase it. And then it smiled at me, it's teeth instantly reminding me of a shark's mouth with rows and rows of sharp teeth. Then it spoke to me.

Xavier: What did it say, Jean?

Jean: "Are you scared of death?" That's all it said before it started walking towards me. And I remember throwing everything I had at it to try to stop it. Blasts left and right but nothing worked, it just kept coming. I tripped stepping back away and as I looked back up to see where it was... there it was. Standing above me and reaching down. I remember screaming and closing my eyes, praying for this to end. And then it happened, I remember it got really hot and I opened my eyes and there was fire everywhere. I was in the middle of an inferno and this... demon, it was frozen in place; hand still outstretched. Suddenly, the flames swept up on the demon and started melting him. His horns melted. His skin melted. Everything. And underneath, I saw Scott there. He was the demon! Begging, pleading for me to stop. But I couldn't stop the flames. I couldn't do anything but watch as Scott melted away. And then, then I just woke up.

Xavier: Hmmm.

Jean: Please Professor, please make these stop. I'm scared to sleep, I'm... scared.

Xavier: It's okay, Jean.

The Professor stands up from his wheelchair, much to the astonishment of his pupil.

Jean: Pr-Professor?

Xavier: It's alright. You just need to embrace your destiny. You have been chosen for a truly unique task, my child. Do not be frightened.

Jean gets to her feet and puts some distance between her and the Professor.

Jean: Why can't you just leave me alone!? I don't want this "destiny" or whatever task I have been chosen for!

Xavier: You cannot stop what is meant to be. You WILL be the host of the Phoenix! YOU WILL!! There is no denying what is to come. You will be the harbinger of change, the avatar of life itself!

Backed up against a wall, there is no where else for Jean to go. The Professor still advancing upon her. His eyes glowing white and his body beginning to burn.

Xavier: The Phoenix is coming!

Jean: NO!

A flash of light and Jean finds herself in class amongst her peers, with them all staring at her.
