In my opinion, I like "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2" more than "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen." That song makes me want to dance and be happy. In fact, that song was played in my graduation ceremony as I earn my Associate's Degree. The other song makes me wonder if I should reveal my privacies that would manipulate and humiliate my life (except it only focuses on Elsa and nobody else)...maybe.
Here's the song:

P.S. The song "Happy" may be a bit off in the movie (I say it's the movie), but it does bring joy.

I don't understand why you are complaining.
If you've read the original fairy tale you would know that the story is about the love between siblings - hence Kristoff's love for Anna wasn't the final sacrifice rescuing Elsa from the darkness within. It's Elsa's story and the movie explains how her heart was frozen from keeping emotions away from herself, fearing their power - fearing to lose control. And it's the story of Anna who rescued Elsa by showing her the meaning of a sisters' true love. Why the trolls haven't told Elsa? Because Elsa couldn't have been told - she had to experience to really FEEL the truth.
The Russian adaption strongly follows the original tale with Gerda and Kai as brother and sister. Disney searched for a more adult story to keep children as main characters out of reach, which was essential for creating songs more people would love to listen to. In creating a kingdom and own characters, Disney did something unique as they already did with "Tangled". "Tangled" also didn't follow the original fairy tale of Rapunzel being the daughter of an ordinary couple rescued by a prince who became blind when the evil witch threw him out of the window of the tower. So what? I know at least a dozen adaptions from the "Rapunzel"-tale and don't think that Disney has stolen anything from them. They did a good job on doing something special and I'm happy that they are returning to produce good movies after all this bustling "Toy Story"-nonsense

If the trolls knew that an act of true would thaw a frozen heart, why didn’t they tell that to young Elsa after she struck Anna at her head with her icy powers? Maybe then, she would get an idea on how to control her powers with love.
Or even better, Elsa could’ve asked how to control her powers, and then the wise troll would certainly say, “I’m terribly sorry Elsa. I don’t know how for it would take me and my family years to find out that solution. And when Anna comes to him after she struck at the heart by Elsa’s icy powers, the wise troll would respond, “After years of finding the solution, the result is an act of true love that will thaw a frozen heart.” That will cover up the details.
P.S.
In the song “Let It Go,” does it mean:
1. Let stealers steal,
2. Let killers kill,
3. Let masters masturbate,
4. Let pedophiles rape children,
5. Let people reveal their secrets that might be disturbing for others,
6. Let people poop and pee in public instead of going to the bathroom,
7. Let people swear in public like Bradley Cooper’s character in “Sliver Linings Playbook,”
8. Let politics lie and conjure (which they do all the time),
9. Let the world suffer without excessive care, or
10. Express emotions in public?

Why didn't Elsa use her hand with her GLOVE on instead of her bare hand which revealed her wintry powers? if Disney wanted her to use her bare hand, they could at least have Anna take both gloves on, or even better, make Elsa NOTICE that she used her wrong hand.

Why are you even comparing the two? There have been several adaptations of Hans Christen Andersen's "The Snow Queen" before, and if they're adapted from the same story, similarities are to be expected.

Both Disney's "Frozen" and Wizart's "The Snow Queen" are based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. However, one feature kept the title while the other tried to attract boys ever since the failure of "The Princess and the Frog."

because it doesnt need the obvious title, it took a part of the story and made it short and simple. I dont understand why you are comparing them when you know they are from the same story of course they are going to be similar. watch the movie, it was amazing. It doesnt mean that the snow queen wasnt good, they can both be good movies. I dont understand why the title matters and how it would attract boys. and how does the original title of the fairy tale "princess and the frog" have anything to do with attracting boys? a lot of people love that movie, unisex. i mean it isnt the best Disney movie, but it isnt terrible. just saying but thats my opinion. i think it is interesting that you are making comparisons to two good movies

Polizzi In reply to babybee1 [2013-11-30 07:30:22 +0000 UTC]
Well you see, Disney feared that "girly" names would chase boys away from seeing princess features. So they disguised "girly" names with gender friendly names to make it look like it can attract both girls and boys alike. Plus, princess features is all about girls, and less attention on boys, except on some animated features like "Alladin." And the reason why I made comparison and contrasts between Disney's "Frozen" and Wizart's "The Snow Queen," to show that Wizart's version was done way before Disney's version. It was accomplished on October 22, 2012, and was presented at the AFM (American Film Market) on November 1, 2012. There, it received positive reviews, including the United States. Wizart's version received positive reviews in their home country Russia, at about 85%. However, on the week of October 11, 2013 in the United States (almost a month before Disney's theatrical release of "Frozen"), it received negative reviews from U.S. critics. On November 26, 2013, it was supposed to be released to DVD (on the day of the advance screening of Disney's "Frozen"), but instead it was released to rent at Red Box. It will be released on DVD on January 28, 2014 (before two months of the DVD release of Disney's "Frozen").
I saw Disney's "Frozen" last Tuesday, and there are two errors (or maybe three).
1. Why didn't Elsa use her other hand with her GLOVE on instead of her bare hand which revealed her icy powers?
2. If the trolls knew about an act of true love that can thaw a frozen heart, and perhaps overcome fear (maybe), why didn't they tell that to Elsa instead of Anna (except that she does need to learn about true love instead of love at first sight with Prince Hans)? Also, provide training from Elsa to help her overcome her fear with love (but that would mean no song "Let It Go")? Maybe then, Elsa and Anna would live happily ever after with love and care. In fact, you don't see Jack Frost having a hard time controlling his frosty powers in DreamWorks Animation's "Rise of the Guardians." He enjoyed it very much even though it's a different story and topic. However, Elsa enjoys a bit of her icy powers in her song "Let It Go."
Anyways, it's cute, but to me it paid too much attention to the emotions between Elsa and Anna instead of providing enough details to the story, even if Kristoff and Olaf explain a bit about true love (which to me is starting to get old, especially when it's already mentioned in the "Shrek" series after Walt Disney).
P.S. 3. (Maybe) Why didn't Elsa freeze Prince Hans after he made a clang sound from his sword since he was about to decapitate her to take over her kingdom?

Let me stop you there
1. When in a movie do characters actually remember that their powers will flare up with emotions, or that they're using the hand their powers reside in. Elsa was angry and scared, meaning her powers activated. If this hadn't happened, there'd be no movie whatsoever. Sure I love questioning the logic as much as the next guy, but you've got to realize these SMALL inconsistencies make the movie exist.
2. Elsa didn't see the trolls again after she froze Anna's BRAIN. She hadn't even realized she'd frozen Anna's heart when she released her powers. On top of that, Elsa didn't fear love, she feared contempt and rejection, things she got immediately after she revealed her powers.
3. She was drained from the giant snowstorm she was trying to control, her emotions were running out of control; she thought she killed her sister, her only remaining family. She never wanted to kill anybody, least of all her sister, or her "Love."
So yeah, understand that I am being sarcastic at some points, but I'm not trying to be condescending. I don't claim to know the movie inside and out, but this is simply what I saw reflected in the movie.

I don't buy it. It needs to be more descriptive than emotional. The only thing emotion does in the movie, is that it sells for money.

Doggy12199 In reply to Polizzi [2014-02-13 11:00:39 +0000 UTC]
Let's remember this movie is targeted towards young girls. I know that isn't an excuse for the glove thing, but it explains why they focus on the emotions. When you're little and love is basically the most magical thing you can imagine, you don't care about small details that don't make sense. You want a teary reunion between two sisters, you want a dramatic kiss that's cute and awkward, so that's what Disney provided. Granted, they kept a very clever plot for the adults and teenagers that would watch this movie, but their biggest focus would be the largest Disney Princess fanbase.
Anyway, regarding your points:
1. Like SoaringScyther said, Elsa was scared and angry and upset. When you're that emotional and you're telling yourself not to feel any of it, and your sister's yelling at you and making it worse, you would probably tend to slip up. I think Elsa was focusing too much on controlling her emotions that she didn't think. Add that with the fact that this is one of the first times she's had her glove off since her father gave them to her, so by force of habit she would forget she even lost them. You can see how every moment after, Elsa actually holds her bare hand so she doesn't slip up like that again, she keeps herself remembering that she can't hide behind the gloves anymore.
2. This is probably going to be frustrating to hear, because it is frustrating to think, but I believe the trolls intentionally kept that information from Elsa. It's implied Grand Pabbie is capable of making prophecies, as he predicts the outcomes of Elsa's magic, and in the original plot, there was this Troll Prophecy thing happening that didn't really make it through to the final script. I think that, like an Oracle, he would've let Elsa live in fear knowing that she had to find her own path, and discover the truth for herself. Continuing on with this thought, I think that maybe Grand Pabbie also knew that Hans wasn't Anna's true love, but he also knew that somehow, Anna would find a true act of love.
3. Ok so I have a really horrible feeling that Elsa knew Hans was going to kill her. She'd just found out her sister was dead, the only person left that she truly cared for, and she was gone. She thought that the entire kingdom wanted her dead, and that she wouldn't be able to use her powers again without thinking of Anna. In those ten minutes I think she might have been so emotional and so worn down that she didn't care about what Hans did, because nothing could be worse than losing Anna.
Most of that was based on headcanon, but it's kind of a few theories that I made to make sense of the things that didn't yet click, and yes, it would've been very nice if they'd have taken a few more minutes to explain a few of these things, but once again, it's targeted towards little girls, and no child below the age of ten pays attention if there's THAT much talking. Too much detail loses the target audience, so Disney kept out the things that they felt would take up potential princess time.
tl;dr, kids freakin' love emotions, man.

well that isnt disney fault that it is being delayed. it came out a year ago and from the reviews that i have seen, it hasnt done well in america.( imdb: 4.8 rotten tomatoes: 57%) and about the trolls. they didnt say that true love would break it because it didnt happen and they didnt think she(anna) would be hit again. and she was afraid of her powers, jack frost had nothing to fear no one could see or judge him. She was a princess and she feared that she would be shunned, which she was when they found out. the song Let it go was to show that now she no longer has to fear being judge; she thought that she would be left alone. and the thing about the glove, she was going to open the door with the gloved hand, but anna upset her and she screamed at her sister, revealing her powers. that was a major part of the movie, anna kept mentioning it. Im and quite pleased that it focused on elsa and anna's relationship and emotions. I thought it was a good mix. the true love showed that it didnt have to be a man or that kind of love, but it could be with family. a lot of people forget that that is an option of true love; not just a man and a woman, but with sisters. it also showed that even though anna didnt know that her sister cared for her, locking her out and keeping a distance, but it showed that no matter what family would sacrifice anything and will always love one another. I am going to watch the ice queen online, but i think frozen was wonderful and i dont care if there was an animation movie of the fairy tale before. also i think that the title doesnt matter; my brothers and guy friends knew that it was about princess's. the title doesnt hide anything, the commercials showed that it was about a princess. it is just a clever title instead of just having the long title of "the ice queen." frozen is a short title that shows that it will involve ice, the commercials show that it will be about a princess so if you put two and two together it is obvious that it would be about the ice queen. just saying

That teaser trailer makes me highly nervous. It looks like they're trying to bring in more of the "Ice Age" crowd as opposed to the "classic fairy tale" crowd, as nothing in that trailer seemed to have to do with either the plot of the original story "The Snow Queen" or the plot details of the upcoming movie that have been leaked to us so far. Makes me wonder if they're taking these stories seriously anymore or just using them as a front for pure goofiness.
On the other hand...I got the same vibe from "Tangled"'s trailer, but I hear it ended up being a decent movie that the trailer made look deceptively dumb. So...maybe.

Wizart’s “The Snow Queen” is faithful to the original story. They’ve adapted most of the ideas (besides the story which was done before in the year 1957, in Russia) from the original story in modern perspective. They’ve adapted the village, the magic garden, the castle with the prince and princess (the king was added), the robbers and their hideout (substituted with pirates and their pirate ship stranded in the snow and ice), the lady of Lapland’s place (The lady of Finn was excluded in Wizart’s version, but not the 1957 version), and of course the Snow Queen’s palace. But there’s one scene I don’t get.
SPOILER ALERT: Why would the king and princess break their possessions and caused their castle on fire, unless they’re expressing anger towards the Snow Queen.
The troll, Orm, is referenced from the original story in the scene where the trolls created an evil mirror to reflect people’s sight, and cause them to see things ugly and turn against each other by tearing themselves apart. But when the trolls accidentally dropped the evil mirror, it shatters and leaves two broken pieces upon Kai’s eyes (which never happened in Wizart’s version).
SPOILER ALERT: Speaking of the magic mirror, Wizart created a turnaround making the mirror good instead of evil, and Gerda uses it to save the world. Orm, on the other hand, lost his kind during the war (referenced from the evil mirror that turns good people into evil). He found the Snow Queen’s palace as refuge. She made a deal with him for his stay in exchange to become her servant.
The 1957 version, Soyuzmultfilm, was the only version very faithful to the original story. Even though they’ve changed the introduction completely different from the original story, but for the record they’re very faithful.
Wizart’s version is almost faithful. But for the record, they’ve created a tremendous twist to make their version modern.

I believe I've seen the 1957 version. I'm not telling Disney to be perfectly true to the original story (because that's just wishing on a star...pardon the pun), but I'd prefer it if at least the original themes and "nature" of the story remained intact.
