So, lately I've had a kind of longing feeling do to missing home and just general nervousness. So, tonight in my browsing and listening to music, the song "Breathe" by Faith Hill came on and it made me think of someone who was a big part of my life. It made me realize just how much they meant to me, and how much I miss them. It was also earlier tonight that I saw the horse in the image, and when I started to feel near tears, I decided to work the image out and used the lyrics, so please, no one steal this and claim it as your own. That wouldn't just be rude but it'd be like stealing a piece of my memory and I don't want to lose it. This is not stock, and no, I won't edit it for anyone because it's so close to me. I'm sorry, but I just wouldn't be able to do it.The credits for the horse go the [link] EbonyDreams, for the lovely buckskin pictured above. Her gallery has a lot of great shots and I recommend that people take a look at the pictures she has. This is not encouragement to steal her work, it's simply encouragement to look.
The Background was from a search on [link] SXC for beaches. It helped make the emotional feel of this image possible. The beach really helped, I think at least, to show you that the horse is staring off for something, as though it was anxious or lonely. I'm very grateful for the stock photographers out there!
The song is Breathe by Faith Hill, and at the moment, it's very fitting to my mood.

I'd rather you didn't. As I said, it's not stock and I don't want it really on horseland because so many people take from there and there are a lot of problems. Besides, the credit really belongs to those people who gave me permission to use their images.

The position of horse was actually chosen because my idea of it was for the horse thinking about giving herself to the ocean, in other words, considering giving up with everything including her own life. I was thinking back to my feelings while I read your comment, and my feeling for it was that I, myself, had thought of giving up myself. However, much like the mare above, I let my feelings go on a breeze and she to the waves she'd considered giving her life too.
The shadows on the left? Are you referring to the sand? If you mean the darker bottom left corner to the sheen from where the water had been, that's why it's like that. It's not so much a layer to lower the opacity of, it's the base itself. The glossy bit is the waters path, and the dark just sand. Other than that, not sure I'm seeing exactly what you're talking about...
See, the song Breathe, the Faith Hill one at least, for me is more sentimental than anything. It was a song that I played whenever I did feel down so that I could let go, and like I said above in reference to why the mare is where she is, she's letting go and the shore is washing away whatever was bothering her.
I don't know if that made sense, kind of in and out of my element at the moment. haha.

ok keep in mind im out of my element with manips, so if you disagree sorry! I really like the texture of the whole thing, youve merged the pics very seamlessly, now my problems: i feel the horse is really close to the shore, i know it must suck being limited to certain stock, but it just seems unnaturally close to the shore, i take it the shadow on the left is used to disguise the direction of the shadows? it seems like its a little too thick, could lower the opacity a bit.. and last thing and i know this is just a personal choice, but to me the breathe song is more of an upbeat one so idk if it fits with the darkness of the work but idk
but yeah, great texture, love the darkness, dark eyes are awesome, really interesting sky as well
