Since no one else seems willing to say it, I will.  It does not escape my notice that the five anti-women votes in the Hobby Lobby case all came from the five Catholic men currently sitting on the Supreme Court -- Roberts, Thomas, Kennedy, Scalia, and Alito. I do not for one moment buy the assertion that their misogyny is the product of their conservative jurisprudence rather than the medieval gender consciousness with which they were infused as children.  By the way, this horrific decision is notable for the fact that the justices in the majority made it clear that they have no scientific understanding of how birth control works, agreeing with the plaintiffs that common estrogen-based medications cause abortions. Moreover, it seems not to bother these learned justices that the Hobby Lobby will continue to cover the costs of vasectomies and Viagra for their male employees.

Do yourself a favor and read Justice Ginsburg's dissent in this case: www.thewire.com/politics/2014/…

Hey come on, now im not religious myself but being raised in Ireland I know lots of catholics, most of whom are what Americans would call very liberal. Religion in any form can be poisonous if the teachings are overanalized and taken as law. However, implying that someone is bad simply because of their religion is a completely over-simplified view. These people do have a choice to be good people. Or, they can decide to interpret their religion as an excuse for medieval behaviour.

Because they're stereo-typical Catholics.

...

Wait a minute! If there were 5 Catholic men on the Supreme Court, then how in Mar's name were various gay marriage bans struck down?

Why ? Because they are misguided. Or simply brick-dumb. Or both. Your pick.

They don't hate women, the Bible just teaches them that men are above women and that women need to stay the fuck in the kitchen and don't talk back and be a man's slave... and people wonder why I hate Christians? -_-

I don't think they hate women - but they do love power and it suits those they serve to insure power stays in certain hands.  Women and minorities are not those hands.  If you keep minorities knocked up and poor, they can be kept down via economics and gerrymandering.  And with 'right to work' laws that can keep pay low, its almost a return to serfdom.  If you remove women's reproductive rights, they lose economic autonomy (because really, women may try to keep their 'slut' 'legs closed', but do you really believe men will allow it?).  And I know a heck of a lot of men who wish the world was that 1950s dream where they could buy a woman via marriage for a regular piece of ass instead of the reality 'nice guys' now have to live with, where women can choose - or not - because they're independent.  And religion, the crutch of the masses, always good for social control, makes the perfect vehicle.  And considering the letters president Obama got from 14 different businesses in construction concerning their right to deny employment to LGBT due to religious beliefs, and some college this morning applying to deny contraception, we now have precedent and how the hell do you prove 'sincere faith' as opposed to pure control?

Despite the awfulness of that verdict, and for that matter many of the recent SCOTUS rulings, I had to give a sad laugh at this image.

I have a feeling that if a company headed by a religious non-Christian, like a devout Muslim or Hindu, started this exact legal battle in the Supreme Court, we would have a unanimous ruling upholding the ACA law on women and their right to birth control.
