Description Pteranodon was - and is - many things.  It was a pterosaur.  A pterodactyloid.  A pteranodontian.  A piscivore.  An adept soarer.  But most of all, it was probably just a damn spectacular, beautiful animal.

What Pteranodon was NOT, however, was a scaly-skinned, leathery-winged, short-crested, long-bodied, eagle-taloned flesh-eater capable of picking up hapless human victims and carrying them off to their untimely demise.  Not that you'd know that looking at all of its unfortunate cinematic appearances - even its most recent one.  More than any other animal, the 'pteranodon' that shows up in Jurassic World is just plain hideous in every possible way.  What makes it worse is that - miraculously - it actually manages to be WORSE than the version that appeared in Jurassic Park III.  It's a testament to the hypocritical argument of continuity used to keep feathers off the theropods.  It's not just wrong - it's aggressively wrong and aesthetically dreadful.

Thank you. The idea of inaccuracies for the sake of maintaining canon never was a thing for the JP franchise, it’s nothing more than a lie.
