Personally I think it's creepier with the bright cheery lighting and background.
Because the make-up is dark and it throws people off at first. And yes, every single
detail of the make-up can be seen!! My only suggestion would be to add some flat neck
bruising/wounds, not a lot or anything, so the face is still the main make-up. Everything else
is there, the whole mood of the character can be felt. The attention to detail & story is
what really makes your make-up realistic and completely believable

and you do a flawless & creative job each time 
see a few on the upper neck, sadly that is where darker
lighting comes in handy, it brings out textures & wounds
better due to shadowing. But I love the cheery light!!

I swear every time I see any of your make up it just gets better and better. I am extremely jealous, I have been wanting to learn Special effects make up for years and you are definitely one person who truly inspired me.
