I take a sign with me to conventions that is similar to this. The purpose of that sign is to get people to stop and look closer at my items so that they can really appreciate the unique little works of art that they are! At conventions I often get mistaken for selling over priced shrinky dinks and people will walk away loudly exclaiming how expensive I am. I want people to understand that bead weaving is very time consuming and requires a ridiculous amount of patience. I completely assemble the keychains from 3 different sized split rings and chain. I also create the necklaces from a large spool of cotton cord, fold over cord ends, industrial strength E6000 glue, jump rings, and a lobster claw clasp. Every single Miyuki Delica seed bead is individually woven into place with a needle and thermally bonded bead weaving thread. Bead weaving creates a finished piece of work that is both flexible, durable, and double sided.Related content

Very cool ^-^ I've recently started beadweaving using a loom. But that only allows you to make square or rectangular items. Looks like the next step is to try it without the loom ^-^

Nobody who has ever taken the time to truly view your work can ever deny the phenomenal amount of time and dedication that goes into them. They are wonderful little marvels and I truly believe both pixel pushers and jewelry enthusiasts alike will agree your work is phenomenal beyond words.

Awesome creation. I understand your point totally!! I did my first convention past saterday (was kinda scaryy) and had some comments from people that do not really know how much time you invested in making a creation (bumbs me out).... I do not do bead creations but i can imagine that one piece is very time consuming. Im gonna put a sign like this one next timee ;p

(having done...honestly *any* crafts, beading is by far one of the most time consuming and delicate next to lacemaking! not to mention the huge overhead cost...)

Omg I don't even want to think of how long making lace would take! I tried knitting and crocheting for a while before beads and it takes so freaking long to make anything! I loose interest in projects quickly so thankfully my little bead creations take hours as opposed to days lol! Most people have been very understanding since I've made my sign explaining the process, but you can never make everyone understand. Luckily for ever rude person theres always someone who is extraordinarily kind so it balances out! Thanks for the compliments!

Thank you! I don't use wire, it's a beading thread called Wildfire or sometimes I use Fireline. I don't have any tutorials that show characters step by step, but I learned how to bead weave from this website beadwork.about.com/library/wee… . I hope that helps!

You said it! I also love bead weaving but you sure seem to have a lot more patience than even I do. I understand what you go through and just how much time and effort these little guys must take you. It really is a LOT of work, and you do it well! I really hope people pay more attention to your sign and will stop mistaking your amazing bead work for junk. Keep up the awesomeness! ♥

I do a little bit of beadwork myself... not nearly this extensive. (I started when I took a class on making Christmas ornaments, but I ended up losing my patience with that and now just use my beads for simple jewelry and to make things to hang off of my bone-art). I can definitely appreciate how intricate this "pixel" stuff is. You must have a lot of patience.
And... beading supplies are a bit pricey, so, I can see your convention sign as a definite need.

I hate when people loudly exclaim crap about someone's prices. It's rude and distasteful, also reminds me of an article someone wrote a while back about how sometimes, there's no "bad customer service" just "bad customers" 
I've done bead weaving for a while now and I can't express enough how true everything you said is, ESPEEECIALLY with seed beads. When you're done they're completely beautiful, however while constructing them it can be very frustrating and time consuming.
Not to mention - your work has inspired me to continue to prefect my work and reminded me why I even like bead weaving in the first place ^-^~ keep it up!~
