Its true, it's all going to hell and nothing is going to stop it. Besides, mother (earth) will wipe us all out before we ever solve anything.

I hear all this about us ruining the planet, but this planet is constantly changing, it will be nothing like it is today, so why all the fuss?

I know it is constantly changing, I guess I should have been more specific in that humans have become such a specialized species the when the earth does dramatically change, very few of us will actually survive. How many people, if they had to depend on living off the land, could actually do it? I know I'm not ready, but that is why my boyfriend and I have started to learn about medicinal and edible plants and are practicing with growing gardens. Why do you think that so many people are "going green"? They have come to realize that the world as we know it is dramatically changing, and they think that they can do something to stop it. I just live in the way I think is right, I'm not much at all for activism as I think that it doesn't do a damn thing except annoy others. Scientists have proved that once an animal becomes too specialized, in a case of major environmental change, they have a very slim chance of survival.
However I wonder if they notice that that is exactly what humans are doing to themselves?

yes. you do. there's way too much detail in the boys' shirts and flags not to, unless you don't want your audience to get the full effect.

i could tell it was steven from the first shot (on the left), but the other boys don't look like him. maybe it's the way he's standing all different. which is all the more impressive to me!!

It may not always seem so, but there is power in the public display of truth.
This should be billboard sized and posted in traffic.

i remember earlier mandy-photo-days when the magic was just emerging...you've taken the sharpness and the color from all your other works and you've flooded it with politics. you've brought out all the beauty of your style and you've saturated it with significance. this piece is the most mature thing i've ever seen in your body of work, and it is to die for (no pun intended, given the meaning of this particular piece). i take my hat off to you and touch my forehead to the floor. bravissimo.

Wow, thankyou so much! I try and tip toe around political, but I just had to saw this one, one comment on what its like watching from the sidelines, one a set of eyes, not choosing a side, this is what i see.

yeah, 'real' looking toy guns here have been banned I think. Now they all have big red ends, or are vibrantly coloured some way.

What a piece, what a piece...
As my Nan might say, "War is like Rock music. It finds a beat and lyric and gets stuck on it. Doesn't matter if by the end of he section of song you never want to hear it again, or if it even makes sense. It just keeps going on till it hits that nerve, goes on a bit more and stops only to be found again in the next song."
Definitely a piece to show her.
I thank you kindly.

It feels like we are all sitting back, watching a play or something, watching these events that seem soo horrible they could only be makebelieve, but they aren't pretend, they are just so real

Too cool. You've really said a lot with this one; especially with your choice of incorporating images that appear to be of the World War II time period (even if they aren't) in the projections.
Well done, and good to see you posting again.
