Is the swan supposed to be her shadow? or just a background element?

hm... i think if someone were to try to pose like that they wouldn't be able to rotate their torso to that angle. I think what needs to happen is you need to rotate her torso more out toward the viewer (does that make sense?)

Very beautiful. I personally like the thin and simple legs. It's elegant. I think the whole pose feels balanced, especially with her blue ribbon tails balancing out the other side. While her expression is perfect, her head is close to being a little too large. With ballet poses especially, a large head can make the whole figure look awkward and unbalanced.

I think it looks stiff because she's an anime character and thus inherently stiff-looking. I remember in the clip you showed me all her limbs looked uber-anorexic, and it kind of freaked me out. I think it would help if you gave her flesh. And... a knee, maybe? Or calves? I dunno, look at this picture here: [link] Her legs are totally straight, but the silhouette is not.
Oh hay, I'll even do a quick-liquify for you, because it's 2:30 AM and I can. [link] And I "red-lined" it too so you can compare. Mind you, the anatomy is still bullshit in my version because I don't know the first thing about anatomy, but... I think it looks more natural that way. (If major contortion is ever natural... Yay ballet!!)
Hope it helps?
Other than that, I think it's pretty. And I like the swan.
