Very nice. I like the texture that you've gotten, especially on the fur. And you've made the wing look so thin and fragile--it looks lovely, and very realistic. Were you working from a specific reference on this one, or just from your imagination? Either way, you've done a very nice job.
Critique-wise (since you've submitted to a critique group) I would probably suggest drawing in some of the outline of the fly's body underneath the wing. The way you have it, it doesn't look as if the wing is transparent. Though that may be deliberate, so that's totally your call. Other than that, the only thing I could suggest would be to try to find better light for the photo--I can see in the background of your picture that there was some natural light around rather than the yellow you typically get with indoor lighting. Natural lighting will give you more of a neutrally colored light, and make your contrast even more striking. But regardless. Very nice work!

I think you're right about the transparency. it could've taken the drawing to an upper level.

There is a large amount of detail in this, and I'm a sucker for detail. Your work always appears to be incredibly detailed, but I really love this one in particular.

wow, this is impressive
the details on the fly is just amazing. maybe you can add more details on the background too? like simple abstract pointillism? and personally I don't mind about black and white, even though maybe a little bit of color on the background can accentuate the fly itself
and you mentioned in the comments that you will upload the finish product into dA... can you link it for me?
PS: I just love how deviantART managed to make artists -especially unnoticed one, like me- to gather around and show their works ^^

Thank you for noticing and for the compliments.
The fly in progress is actually done and finished a longΒ timeΒ ago
but unfortunately, it don't like the outcome as much as like the linear work.
Took a bold step with the colors and used a technique that I am not enough experienced with.
I might go back and work on it again someday.
By the way, I wouldn't have never think to upload it if it wasn't your specific request.
