Description Here's Scumbug from the vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure line. I always thought he was neat... although, after spending so much time looking at him for this, he's actually somewhat disturbing.

I definitely had this guy's action figure when I was a kid (no surprise there since I was obsessed with bugs of all kinds.)  Never noticed that he had those four claws/venus-flytrap chomper things coming out of his torso back then, I don't think.

I remember when I got mine too.

Yeah, the chompers I think are extra arms. When I drew them, they appeared to be smiling so I just left them that way. I may have accentuated them a bit more than the toy. I'll have to dig mine out again to check.

Truly disturbing are the huge antennae on his "roachboys" . I remember this guy from a archie comics issue where he fights a planarian dude. Maybe you could draw him too?

This one was another classic creepy figure.  They put so much detail into those things.  I find the lovely tulips oddly discordant with the figure, which I think works wonderfully!

Thanks. Yes they did. I never bought those cuz... toxic waste is kinda... icky to me. They did Earthworm Jim though. I have all those figures.

I never collected those since I was ... well ... old when they came out.  My nephew used to collect the Turtles, so I often helped him make his collection grow.  I was always fascinated by the designs ...
