Description Last year I went to Polend with a group of our church. We went to Auschwitz, It was so emotional! During the Second World War more then a million jews were killed here.
On this photograph you see a building in the back. This is the entrance of the camp. all jews who got deported to this camp came in by train. this is the end of the line. This train was a one way ticket to more crewelty then enybody can imagine, with a certain death waiting for you in the gas chambers.

War is still a daily reallity for a lot of people in the world. I think itΒ΄s good to sometimes think about this to realize how lucky I am to live in peace!!

This has quite a powerful impact on anyone who views this. Your idea is original and it's nice for a change from the usual pieces which show mortality by artists following a trend rather than using their own mind for good ideas.

The black and white is an appropriately chosen style for the photograph, obviously to reflect on a well-known historic event. I will criticise however on the camera-work. I would have suggested trying to centre on the track a bit more so that the Auschwitz entrance is directly perpendicular to the character in your shot (I understand that this may not have been possible if the track wasn't centred) Also, the horizon is slightly off being horizontal. I'm just curious if this was part of an effect you were aiming to get.

All-in-all, this is still an outstanding piece which I can see having a lot of potential with literature based on Auschwitz.

You're welcome.

(For a moment, I thought you meant literally shooting, then I clicked).
