i'd say she was still because of intense concentration, but in my experience with cats the pupil dilates rapidly as they focus on something until, BAM, it basically fills as much of the eye as it can, and they pounce.
so, lucky shot? anyway it gets a thumbs up and a +fav from me, niiiiice kitty

Actually she was watching some birds outside, and she was staring at them for quite a while 
My experience with cats tells me to run fast and hide when the pupil is dilated
