I got the last session on my Doctor Who abstract art piece all done and healed up! I'm in love with it. The water colour splash/nebula in the back ground features a clear space inspired by the 'crack in the wall'.This is based on the fan-made Gallifreyan as well as a Time Lord seal and then just my own mix of circles, dots and lines. So it doesn't 'say' anything. I looked into a direct 'translation' but I didn't really like anything on a pure aesthetic bases so I went with the abstract art angle.
The symbols across the wrist are an older work of a Stargate address that I think nestles in nicely.

First thing that popped out of my mouth: "Oh my gosh, it's /beautiful!/"
I wish I was old enough to get a tattoo. However, the state I live in, as well as the state I'll be moving to, don't allow minors to get tattoos, even with parental/legal guardian permission.
Oh well, I have four years to think about it, and it'll probably be more.

My mother says that her proudest accomplishment as a parent was getting me to wait til I was 18 to get my first tattoo and the tattoo that I did get on my 18 was a mistake in the end (a fine design but I didn't know enough to properly research my artist). I have a cover up over it now so all is well, but if you are going to tattoo take the next few years to really research who you go to.
I work in the medical field at hospitals and such and no one cares about tattoos in the work place any more for the most part. I work with doctors that have full sleeves. None of my patients ever bat an eye at the tattoos, even though I work with geriatrics.
I saw a bumpersticker that read "My job does not define who I am...my ink does." It was an ad for a tattoo cover up sleeve "Because I love my tattoo...but my boss doesn't."
