The flame wings are a dominate trait, but do not always breed true to colour.
His white coat is recessive and will only show white when breeding to another white coat.

here comes my nerdiness, but there would be a 1/4 chance of it appearing if mating two horses who were heterozygous for the trait.
anyways, didn't mean to sound like a jerl or anything. the fire is fantastic!

PS- if they were both heterozygous Dominate for this trait there would be 75 % chance of Wings, not 25%, there is a 25% to get the recessive trait of no wings if they are het.

i thought that you meant the trait for white hair was recessive. if so, parents Ww x Ww would have 2 of their offspring with white fur. i see my mistake though, sorry to but in.

Here's my nerdiness: Fenix Phyer is Homozygous for this Dominate trait so 100% of the offspring would have the fire wings. The fire colour is semi-dominate and there for you can get diffrent colours if you breed to another colour or white.

I had already set up a breeding for one of my mares, but it's been over a week and I've still had no reply from the stableowner as to wether it's been accepted or not. So would it be ok to breed him to my arabian mare Amelatu [link] ?
