To complete the trio of Xithrel, Beneficiary of [REDACTED] and Brogmir, Lost Legionnaire , here's Salas!He's a blue merfolk wizard from Ixalan! Originally part of Tishana's band before he ventured out into the multverse. Mechanically, he has an owl familiar, but since the River Heralds don't really do animal companions, we made it into an elemental.
I'll post the drawing I made for the player's actual birthday tomorrow, spread it out a little

Ixalan merfolk are best! I'm currently trying to build a Kumena merfolk tribal Commander deck. Figuring out wincons isn't easy for him, though… I think I have to abandon the idea of 100% merfolk creatures in it and instead put a few others in - because, unfortunately, merfolk aren't the strongest creatures around. n.n"
Seeing that you made this one for the War of the Spark set, it reminds me of how bad the book was... there they had the chance to introduce a few new Planeswalkers AND give them a story. They had new PWs, but basically no story for them… Or they also could have fleshed out some already existing ones. Like Narset or Tamiyo or Sorin and Nahiri. Siigh… A merfolk PW from Ixalan would have been really nice too. Those from Ixalan just look so pretty.
Anyhow, enough rambling. n.n You did a really great job here, the picture looks really nice. n.n Keep doing such a great job.

That's true. I really hope that they will bring up some really nice stories, and I am curious where they're going to take the general story. Gotta read the Ikoria novel soon.
