Thank you for this, most knitting and crafting books who tell you how to make a pom pom are useless and unhelpful but this is very nice, simple and actually understandable thank you.

I'm trying this because I love pom poms. I'm having a hard time keeping the cut threads in the knot. Maybe I just need to tie it tighter?

Is there a yarn that is best for making pom poms? or does it not matter. (I had noticed that the one you used seems smoother)

This is 50% similar of how we do "molas" in my country, which is a part of our folkloric dress, exactly like this pom pom~ (actually, a mola is a pom pom xD)
But this is way 1000000 times faster

This is way better than the way I once learned it, something about using a circkle with a hole in...but I don't remember how to tie it.

this seems much simpler with the same result!

I remember when I was young I'd sit with cardboard circles winding the wool around them. It used to take hours, and I'd often give up and let someone else finish it - I'm so glad I've seen this method now!

shelldevil In reply to Unicorn-Fart-Party [2011-12-30 05:41:08 +0000 UTC]

This got a DD because I chose to give it one. Why? Because I thought it was an excellent step by step deviation showing how to make a pompom. Judging by the many many comments from people, it is indeed useful. Just because it is simple, does not mean its something people automatically know how to do.

Unicorn-Fart-Party In reply to shelldevil [2011-12-30 05:57:12 +0000 UTC]

k no need to freak over someones opinion ok?

shelldevil In reply to Unicorn-Fart-Party [2011-12-30 07:16:09 +0000 UTC]

Well there was really no need for such rudeness to begin with now was there.

no i just think ppl need 2 stop taking the internet to damn seeriously :333 looooil

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

thunderycat In reply to shelldevil [2011-12-30 11:27:49 +0000 UTC]

That means, that i can leave only positive comments?
Of course comments like "this sucks, you'r stupid, ugly and so on" are very rude and unacceptable. But if i just don't like it, or i think, that this is just too simple for DD why can't i tell it. If it doesn't offence the author.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shelldevil In reply to thunderycat [2011-12-30 21:05:22 +0000 UTC]

Because the author did not ask for it to be a DD. If you don't like it then note ME about it and leave the artist alone.
You don't need to like it, but I can bet if someone gave you a DD and a heap of people came over and shat on your parade youd be pretty pissed off about it.

You didn't have to view it, you would've left the page after viewing it.

And using 'u' is the dumbest thing you can do...
